  1. While looking for a WRX dont forget to look in the auto traders for ohio and the surrounding states. I found my silver 02 w/ 90k miles for 9 grand. It was some old guy that had and it was in great shape and stock down to the air filter. Every other car that was in that range was going for 12ish. So good luck in your hunt. And take your time. 2 weeks prior to me getting the WRX I almost drove to NY to buy an RS for 8. One thousand more and I gots my WRX. Now these prices may be off since my purchase was several months ago and prices may have dropped. I don't know, I quit looking after I got my second one.
  2. Nice cars, I used to work w/ a guy that runs a modified Dirt track car. He ran mostly at Muskingum. I am not sure how up to date this list is, but it does give what looks like most of the dirt tracks in ohio. http://www.ohiodtr.com/ohio_dirt_tracks.htm
  3. I was there on Sat. It was a great show and yes the F22 kicked ass. My favorite part was the bombers and the ground explosions. That was a cool effect that I have never seen at an air show.
  4. I kinda scanned through this, and didnt see any mention of old school 60's cars. Why not a old Nova,Mustang,Camaro,Impala,Charger,Duster,....blah blah blah. Why does it have to be a late model car? Just wondering.
  5. I got there at 6 and stayed until 8. I had enough time to eat look at the bikes and get out before it got dark. It was filling up when I got there at 6 and past full when I left at 8. So unless you are hell bent to stay late you can make, have fun, and get out before having to ride at night.
  6. I went to my first bike night last night and wow it was busy. I had a great time and there were a ton of bikes there. I left early since I didnt want to be riding in the dark but there were still people getting there when I left at 8. If its nice next week I am going to go again.
  7. Holy cow, I just watched the britney video. I cant believe how bad she did. Like everyone else said. Time to move on. Maybe brit can get in the gym and do playboy to get her career back in order. Its worked for others.
  8. Welcome to the board. Nice cars. Thats a great looking talon, I bet you were sad to see it go. I've had one or two crx's. Those are good daily drivers.
  9. I have driven my car all over and never ever had a cop stop me because I had year plates and wasn't going to a car show. I also thought when getting year plates that the plates actually had to match the year of the car, but I am not for certain about that. Dave is correct. You pick up year plates, and then they register them to historic plates that you keep in the car somewhere. But I historic plates do not expire, or they dont expire for long long time. I havent had to renew my since I bought them 6 years ago. I picked my plates up at a swap meet for 20 bucks. I bet ebay would have them. Or go to the springfield swap meet when ever it is and get some.
  10. I have to agree. Dave is a great guy, the local Camaro club toured their factory a few years ago. It was a cool set up.
  11. I would go with Year plates, but thats just personal preference.
  12. I have to agree with Brian. Spend the 14 k on a non daily driver, because cars with power will break sooner or later. You don't want to be bumming rides because you only car broke.
  13. 1969 Chevy Camaro 400 Small Block chevy motor TH350 Transmission I have had the car for about 6 years. I have done alot to it but there is so much more to do. As soon as I get the new house mod finished I plan on taking the car down to bare metal and starting over. The car overall is pretty slow, but its basically a stock bottom end 400, with a set of double hump 64 cc heads and an outdated edlebrock intake. Along with the body redo I plan to build a 383 that should be decent, and unfortuately I will have to get my tranny rebuilt as well. http://columbusht.com/uploads/Tunstall_1.jpg http://columbusht.com/uploads/DSC0896.jpg
  14. I have to agree with Vince. I am completely new to riding as well. I bought an old Honda CB650. Just something to get me started. Its slow as sin and that just the way I like it. I plan on getting a newer bike next year, but a cruiser. No way would I get a newer crotch rocket until I have a few years of riding under my belt. Good luck with the bike buying.
  15. I dont care if it breaks records or not. Its stupid.
  16. Wow, what a crappy thing to read on a monday morning. RIP
  17. I should be there as well. I went to the Dayton air show w/ Maro and that was really bad ass. It was his company picnic so we had our own aircondidtion tent w/ food and drinks. I got so sunburned that day though. The next few days were hell. I felt the best parts of the air show were the old planes so this should be a real sight to see.
  18. Wow, That sucks. Good luck w/ court. I hope everything turns out allright.
  19. Wow, that is funny. I hate to tell him but I dont think the market for 81 camaro's has reached the point he thinks it has.
  20. I tried to get into the class the day after I got my permit. Its booked until next year. I did hear that you could try showing up to a class and if there is a no show you can take their spot. As soon as I can get into the class I plan to.
  21. ^^^ Completely agree ^^^^ I just took the test last month. I studied the book they give you w/ the packet a few nights and it was a breeze. There is no reason not to get the permit other than being lazy. The test is really that simple.
  22. Nice looking Z! Welcome to the board.
  23. If it just broke the glass itself you can just replace that. If it broke the whole mirror assembly then have someone like Dave look at it. Niki had a vulture hit her mirror in the blue bug eye and broke the glass. You dont take anything apart. You just put the glass in and work the plastic around the edges. I think I put a small amount of apoxy just to make sure it sticks, but I did that like a year ago and havent had any troubles. Also I got the mirror glass from the subaru dealership for like 30 bucks. Hatfield I think it was. Good luck
