While I think 68k is pricey, building a vehicle from scratch like they are doing would not be as cheap as most would think. I got that eye opener when just looking at upgrades for my camaro. Even repo stuff from Year1 is expensive, and most need "help" to even come close to fitting correctly. Still 68k for a roller, even a complete one seems steep. Especially in the economy as it sits now.

How about you get him to test drive a few cars. Figure out a list of ones he likes and then ask if any has pros and cons about specific cars. Just asking for any random car under 40k will really not get you good information.

Meh, I am biased. I think 1st gen Camaros are the best Ford did something really good with the 03-04 cobras and then went away from it. I guess the same could be said for the last gen Camaros and Firebirds.
