  1. I have the Garmin 2595LMT, and it does not transmit through Bluetooth. It does communicate with the cellphone, but it will not communicate with the Sena. I went with this set up, because it was significantly less expensive than a motorcycle specific GPS.
  2. Sena received my broken unit yesterday the 09th. I just received an email from them saying that they are replacing it under warranty and a replacement unit was shipped today. So far,so good.
  3. Quite possibly. I'm finally preparing to get the old Hon-duh back on the road here soon. Gonna buy some tires for it once I sell this Sena and then I'll be back in business lmao
  4. I just checked Sena's site...battery is supposed to last 5 months I haven't even owned the thing 3 weeks, and only used it for maybe 250 miles worth of rides at most.
  5. Not really to my bike but got my sena in and installed it on my lid. Also installed the ram mount for my phone as well and did the flapper mod. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. You are correct if you want limited communication. The Sena and other manufacturers include the versatility of listening to music, skipping songs, taking phone calls, increasing and decreasing volume all with your gloves on a helmet device.
  7. Yeah some friends of mine had their 20s go bad, and Sena sent one out to them real quick. I hope I can get a speedy replacement, riding season is getting thin.
  8. Which device you own? I started using them long back during which time Scala was the go to (don’t know if it was the only one) But it’s close to a decade old now and starting to show its age at times. I been seeing only sena with majority of OR folks. I used to like sena because of bang for buck factor, but these days prices are comparable but Scala offers waterproof while sena still sucks in this area. But still the whole point of having communicator is to talk with others. (Tonik 😊) newer ones can be interconnected with other brands still crappy. Just wondering what device the majority carry. The next generations ones are already here which sort of has this “self healing mesh” networking. No more standing by and clicking marathon, they literally automatically connect within range (tonik 🤣)
  9. 5.0 is now released..look like the best one yet Sena Technologies, Inc. released the firmware version 5.0 of the SMH10 with major enhancements in functions and features such as Universal Intercom and Advanced Noise Control™. - Universal Intercom: You can have an intercom conversation with non-Sena Bluetooth headsets using the Universal Intercom™ function. - Advanced Noise Control™: It is equipped with wind noise suppression and intelligent Noise Gate in the intercom to limit the interference of wind noise and background noise while riding. - Sidetone: If this feature is enabled, you can hear what you are speaking during an intercom conversation or a phone call. You can upgrade your firmware using the new Device Manager v1.4.4 for Windows and v1.9.4 for Mac users. http://senabluetooth.com/sena-released-smh10-firmware-version-5-0/
  10. My sena smh-10 was awesome but I can count on 1 hand I used it for actual comms with another rider. I bought it mainly so I could just bluetooth tunes in to my helmet

    Wow

Due to unfortunate circumstances the only chance I get is to put my Helmet on while piping motorcycle noises through my Sena and sitting on my pool table pretending it'll bippity boppity turn into a motorcycle

    Sena

No one uses paper anymore old man. We are closing the library at the HS this summer. We are averaging 1 book check out per student, per YEAR. And Sena has an app for that, has all the manuals in it.
  13. Is there a way in ios to set the screen to be unlocked when connected to certain bluetooth devices? Android calls it trusted devices. So my Sena and car when paired unlock it. Or a third party 'screen on' app that keeps the screen on.
  14. I've got the Sena SMH-10. It works pretty well, although I wish I'd have gone for either the 10S or the 20S for longer range. It pairs with my iPod well for music and my Zumo660 as well.
  15. Just put in a few hours on the Honda, about to take the zookie out. I'll have my Sena on, hit me up at 330.338.9708 if you wanna meet up. Not sure what direction I'll be heading in tho.

Your choice. Wired have wire options for whatever you plug them into. I believe John got the wire ones to plug into his Sena. That makes sense to me. Don't need another thing to charge.
  17. Just had Nate quote me in the sena and he gave a great price but Amazon was slightly lower. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0087NAZM0/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1372507638&sr=8-1π=SL75
  18. Finally got to test out the Sena. With earplugs in, I could hear everything but wind noise. Even making phone calls at speeds exceeding the freeway speed limit were clear and audible. This is a god setup. Thanks for the feedback.
  19. Just found and ordered a pair of these. They are no Sena bluetooth setup, but a step forward from what I currently have. Brilliant idea, hope they work well. https://www.plugfones.com/hearing-protection/motorcycle-earplugs/ "BUYNOW10" for 10% off
  20. 75k miles in Sena headsets, countless downpours, never had a waterproof issue. Smh10, 10u, and now my srl. I've tested it up to 150+mph and still connected to another rider, running much slower. Range is usually about line of sight. Whatever they claim, just disregard it. They're not gonna reach 2 miles unless your daisychaining several together across a group. I had issues with my sena 10u, and started considering scala, but you'll find reviews with people having the same issues as any other brand.
  21. I use these, but they're molded around earbuds. They work great at blocking unwanted noise, and even with the music going, I can hear what I need to around me (traffic, sirens, etc). http://earfuze.com/ It does get a little old having to plug the cord into the Sena every time I put the helmet on though. I have been thinking about trying just the Sena speakers in my helmet and wearing earplugs, but I feel like the sound quality (of the music) would be awful. Anybody have any input on that?
  22. The other brand KaydaChaos was paired with was my Interphone F4. Apparently I'm loud as fuck on their end. I could hear both the Senas just fine in my headset when we had a 3 way intercom set up.
  23. so much of this!!! My RF-1000 was super quiet on both my 600RR and 636. On the VFR its loud as shit but the good thing about that is it caused me to discover the amazing combo of ear plugs and my Sena Bluetooth combo
  24. It seems the smart helmet design is starting to fizzle out. Skully gone now, and Fusar went from selling a helmet to their Mohawk thing. I think someone like Sena or Cardo could do a smart helmet more successfully.
  25. I knew you'd disagree, that's cool. You do seem to get your phone to serve you well. Doesn't work for me. That's all I'm saying. My Sena won't play music for 16 hours on one charge.
