mike884
Looking for something with a decent size engine, at least 400cc. Late 70s, 80s, 90's. Prefer standards or similar. Anyone got some old bike sitting in their garage they would like to let go, around 1k give or take? Open to anything really. Let me know, thanks! -Mike Edited April 3, 2014 by mike884
magley64
backpack is lukewarm on her bike, it's a CM450E (82 I believe) has a broken speedo cable, loose forks, and a dented rear shock (previous owner wrecked it and got scared of it so he stripped it completely apart)I reassembled it and got it running, patched the dented tank and repainted the tank and side covers. Added a crash bar, and that was pretty much it.I had planned on replacing the whole front fork assembly, but never got around to it.Engine runs beautifully, starts right up and idles like a dream. Has enough power to pass a souped up sportster with twice the displacement.Has a little shimmy and shake, but I imagine alot has to do with the loose bearings in the triple tree.I'd bet she'd let it go for 700Clean title. redkow97
How is it riding a full sized bike with drum brakes?I will say they are stupid easy to maintain...
magley64
Nowhere near as crisp as disk, but do stop the bike reasonably quick for street use.
RVTPilot
That thing would be a fun cafe project!
mike884
I learned to ride on a cm400.... the 400/450s were on the top of the inexpensive list.... the drums actually work just fine. Around town the CM is a riot.
JackFlash
Has enough power to pass a souped up sportster with twice the displacement. My eyes must be going funny, because when I read that thefirst time, I was sure it said, enough power to pass a soupedup scooter. .

(sure looked shiny and skullerific)I told him this one was wrecked by a previous owner, and had a wobbly steering stem, but i still pulled past him with ease.
