YSR_Racer_99
Can Am trikes make me chuckle (not for any good reason). THIS looks like it would be awesome. May have to look into this, but I'm guessing there's a long waiting list. I'd rather have an XBow, but hey...
CBBaron
Looks pretty cool but way too expensive. Its the logical succession of the CanAm. Sure an Atom or Xbow make more sense but US DOT regulations being the way they are you cannot sell on of those for the road. A 3wheel vehicle is a motorcycle and does not have near the requirements for pollution controls or crash tests. So it makes sense for an open air roadster. Just because its not a bike does not mean it would not be alot of fun to drive. Craig

Ron505
I think it would be a scream to drive, especially on a closed course.
wantahertzdonut
Interesting idea, but not for me. Might be good for doing donuts, but after that I wouldn't bother. I'm guessing you'll see a lot of them in the ditch with over exuberant retirees bleeding from the mouth.
redkow97
Sean Clark has repeatedly said that I'd someone wired one to WERA specifications, he'll find a class for it to race. I don't think they're motorcycles, but I agree they could be a lot of fun.

YSR_Racer_99
I'm not ready to write this one off. I'd give a nut for a XBow, but think the Slingshot would be a blast at the right price. I like the minimalist approach. Called my local Polaris dealer and they said that they don't have anything firm to base this on, but they thought the Slingshot was gonna start at about $18k. Hmmm. Okay. I'll put a purchase of one of these in my "maybe" column, pending a test drive. Then I dug a little further on the interwebz, and found that its gonna have a Chevy engine in it and be somewhere arount $30k. Of course, all of this is wild speculation at this point, but that latter info put that vehicle in the "noooo chance" column of my ledger. I'll wait and see. Kind of like a Razr: I'd like to have one, but when I look at it from a practical standpoint, it'd be a huge waste of money. Although I could use this for work, whereas I can't use a motorcycle for what I do.
redkow97
I am not a GM fanboy, but I can appreciate that Polaris seems to have deferred to an auto maker rather than designing a motor that is likely double the size of anything else they produce. 2.4 liter I-4 is what I read. Sounds like the cobalt SS motor, in its Cruze incarnation(?)Regardless, as long as they can tune it to be the RIGHT amount of tail-happy, it could really be a blast to drive. Steve Butters
I bet it'll have so many safety electronics that it'll be impossible to ever slide the ass around... Gonna be a dull beast in anything but a straight line I imagine

Iron Pony
We've committed to being a Slingshot dealer. We will post up more information when we have it. Word is we will have a demo model.I think it is pretty cool. I personally am committed to two wheels, but I applaud Polaris for pushing the limits and trying something new and innovative. The X-Bow is really cool, but we will never see it allowed on American roads. VW actually had something in the works like the Slingshot 10 years ago, but pulled the plug over liability concerns. Depending on demand and feedback I think we will add a Slingshot to the EagleRider rental fleet. I can see myself renting a Slingshot for a weekend or two each summer. Cool, I think one would be a fun rental. Might even get my wife to ride with me on one. Look forward to hearing more details
jacobhawkins
Saw a Slingshot the other day in Westerville and talked with the owner for a sec as he and the boy were headed into a store. Very cool machine, not a bike, but I'd sure like to have a day or two with one. Katie sure like it!
