Akula
Try putting just this number into the URL field and hit enter (not dangerous, don't worry) 1119991567 If you can tell me why this works, I will tell you that you can have a cookie. Vulcan900
Guessing that it is a domain name ? I think firefox looks for that first then goes to google to search....really this is just a guess though.

Akula
Try this. Ping yourfavoriteurl.com this will resolve to an IP, then apply this formula. x.y.z.a <--the IP of yourfavoriteurl.com a*1 + z*256 + y*(256*256) + x*(256*256*256) The result is a decimal equivalent to an IP address. IE used to support browsing this way, seems firefox still does.

Basically some of the people who helped create the popular Netscape browser. Except it much better... Here, try it. http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/
nismo
I stopped using it. The IT guy at work put out this huge e-mail about all the security problems with it. They also removed it from every PC that had it. Just alittle FYI.

Mr. Jones
It is not soo much a security issue, rather compatibility with some sites encoding.

Akula
I am actually in a security class right now, we are using firefox because of the security problems with IE (poor coding that allows for buffer overflow exploits etc...) I would say that MANY of microsoft's products are less secure than Firefox. True Firefox in the early releases had exploits, but 90% of them existed in IE as well. Since Feb. it has become a very stabile, very secure solution. Your security guy probably doesn't like it because he doesn't know it. Mojoe
I don't know shit about the tech stuff here, but the public internet access on the military bases I went to in Iraq all ran firefox. Some of the lenders I do business with here, their sites don't work with firefox. I believe it's like JoneZ said.
Kevin R.
I must thank you as I have never heard of Firefox, downloaded it, and it is the shit. I couldn't even use Internet Explorer on this computer, always froze, too slow, etc. So much better with Firefox. Awesome.
