The potential could save a lot of lives, then again, most people I see riding are too cool to wear protective gear. Blazing through traffic in sandals/cutoffshirt/shorts, and a bandanna. It says the downside is a price increase for equipped bikes (only 500 bucks to possibly save your life) and 3 lbs of extra weight. What's the downside of adding a measly three pounds? I would definitely wear one, its a great idea. Here is a similar concept, I tend to like the tether idea.
