Too bad I haven't heard anything about a stick shift transmission option...

The article says a 7.5 foot bed. That must be for the regular cab version. Based on the pictures, it sure doesn't look like a 7.5 foot bed on the 4-door version. If you can get a 7.5 foot bed on the 4-door version, I would rock it. Otherwise, no.

Last time I was there I went and looked at a couple of them. Commercial drivers I guess are loving them because they are cheap and disposable. Thing had the tiniest differential and axles I remember.

Probably something like a CR-V. Ever pull up to a light behind a CR-V and see the rear CV joints and such ? Looks like a grapefruit and 2 straws.

Exactly, lol.

 

Small trucks have always been very popular in south africa though. Starting with the VW, nissan, and mazda/ford small pickups. But when Tata started selling vehicles there it opened the doors to all kinds of crap.

Meh, don't like the looks. But, if I were shopping for a compact/midsize truck with a diesel, it'd be the Euro Ranger 100%.

You like the look of this thing? Well, hate to let you down, but the guy who did the custom work on it is a fucking MORON. He got that wide stance by welding pipe extensions onto the stock hubs. One good thump off-road, and those extensions will snap like straw.

Not to mention that the fender flares and custom body-work are made from super-heavy high-gauge steel, and the grille itself is massive pieces of plate steel welded together...so he added several hundred pounds of useless dead weight...Granted, the truckwould probably shrug off rock hits to the body like they never happened, but then, they never will happen, because it would never make it anywhere off-road. A Civic would last longer off-road than that thing.

 

 

That said, I might buy a stocker. Mahindra builds tough, dependable equipment. If they bring that quality to their trucks, they should pretty tough.
