RedRocket1647545505
Testor's model paint mixed with a bit of thinner. Put on tip of a fine brush, touch to the rollmark and let the paint drop flow through it. Let the thinner evaporate, wipe off the excess with rag dampened with thinner, and voila! This is the right answer. Ensure you use flat paint, NOT GLOSS.
evan9381
with the thinner do anything to the finish of the slide? i read that dipping the barrel in white vinegar for 1/2 hour - 2 hours will take off the black finish and turn the barrel silver

Besides, you're not soaking it in the stuff or anything.

evan9381
well, i did it. lol used a bit of a different method, but close. when i was wiping off with the thinner, it was bringing it out of the engraving. covered everything, let it sit for a couple minutes, wiped off with dry paper towel, let sit for a few more minutes, wiped off excess with gun oil. did this 2x and it looks great now to get out and get some rounds through it quickly to see if its going to burn the paint or not
evan9381
doesnt look any different, but heres a couple pics of the finished product. i think the white does a nice job of breaking up all the black http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/evan938/DSC02329.jpg?t=1203484131 http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/evan938/DSC02330.jpg?t=1203484131 http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/evan938/DSC02333.jpg?t=1203484131
