JonnyNashville
A guy came early this morning to buy my 600RR and I let him take it out to make sure he was happy with what he was getting and he laid it down literally 100 feet away from my house. Cold tires, cold pavement, bike can go down easily. Luckily I had the certified bank check in hand before I let him take the bike down the road and it is now his responsibility to repair it. Make sure you get the money before you allow a test ride!
excell
Make sure you cash that check before he reverses it! It IS possible to get a certified check cancelled.
GRN96WS6
If I sell a bike no one is riding it unless I have CASH in hand. I mean CASH to no check no money order cold hard CASH.
JonnyNashville
Yeah, the money has been deposited. I just couldn't believe the guy laid the bike down 100 feet from my house, ~30 seconds after buying it.

JonnyNashville
Was that the first time he ever road a bike.... Well, this is the interesting part of the story. The guy who actually laid the bike down was the new owner's friend. He was test riding it because he is "an experienced liter bike owner"... He felt pretty dumb. wheezy
How did he wreck and how much damage did it do?
JonnyNashville
This was at like 7:30 AM and it was below freezing... he just tried to take off around the corner in the neighborhood in the bike just went down - slid right out from under him. The bike had frame sliders and bar ends that absorbed most of the impact, but the tail section hit the ground and is scraped, the mirror is damaged, and the windscreen was scraped up from the mirror swinging into it. Also, the rear powdercoated peg was scraped up pretty badly.
JaSSon
The first words out of my mouth would have been "Enjoy your new bike." as I slid the check into my pocket.

yotaman88210
Haha. This is funny. Happens all the time tho... And I agree, I have never bought a bike w/o a long test ride with mild abuse. You gots to do it!
