Can you weld Aluminum?

What is it? It would need cleaned, welded and flattened on a mill or surfacer. can the thickness change? I would say at a minimum .010 would need to come off both sides, provided it doesnt move around to much while welding. Depending on how much a new one is that might be a cheaper route...

It's an intercooler plate. It just houses a heat exchanger inside those plates. I think tomorrow I'm going to buy some either JB weld or something to that type and see if i can seal it.

 

Then I was going to tap it in several places and bolt it all together.

 

New, they run $300. If I can get it done for $50 I'd hit it. If not, then $5.00 it is :).
