I am Officially starting today. New Year's Festivities were planned WELL before this Thread Began, and I was NOT going to put off some those plans :D However, it is time to drop the weight!

If you are wanting to lose weight (not just fat), going to the gym will build muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat for the same volume. So.... you can / will slim down, lose fat, but your weight would stay the same. So.... watch / monitor your BMI / % Body Fat.

^Yep, hence why I've only lost 10lbs in over a month since I started lifting weights(only cardio before) and going more often. I havn't kept track of my bmi which I probably should but I know I'm heading in the right direction.

 

I saw several noobs in the gym today, reminded me of just a couple months ago when I first started and didn't have a real clue as what to do, getting a trainer is the best thing I did.

I didnt get a trainer but Sam has been helping out allot. I;m almost out of my med sized t shirts......lol

ok last year I dropped about 25 lbs which I have been able to maintain now for some time comfortably.

 

This year its time to pick up the pace. Right now I float around 190 to 195ish. My goal this year is to get to 175-180 and be a 12% body fat or lower (currently at 19 or 20%).

I transgressed today and had a mountain dew with lunch, it was so fucking good I wanted more but knew I couldn't. Though I still have a soda here and there(1-2/week) I sure as hell miss it.

 

Cheater.

 

I seem to be at a stand-still. I have not lost or gained anything. This sucks. Time to step it up I guess.

Same here Mountain dew is my one weakness (silly I know) so I will allow myself one can on Saturday or Sunday with a meal. If I do a real tight week one each day. Also on the weekends I will eat closer to 3500 calories where during the week it's 1500 to 2000.

Keep at it. I didn't lose a pound for over 2 months though I was only doing cardio and hadn't yet changed the diet, as soon as I started lifting weights and changed the diet I started losing the weight despite bulking up on muscle.

i've been allowing myself to go out to dinner once a week and eat whatever i want, as well as out for breakfast sunday morning. otherwise, i've cut out ANY regular pop, most of the gatorade/powerade i was drinking, and big portion fast foods. and i stopped eating ANYTHING at all after 7 pm.

the problem with mt dew is that it drinks so fast. You take one big swig and it seems like you drank half the can.

I am doing a biggest loser at my workplace... I've bulked up sufficiently to ensure the win. I will be doing my usual bodybuilder pre-contest CutDiet. It is impossible for most people to follow, but I am awesome. Ill post before and after pics too which will also be awesome.
