wagner
I've just spoken with Mark Pfeffer (Feffman on CR) at MVP Track Time (http://www.MVPTrackTime.com) about their October 17-18 track weekend at Mid Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington. Due to the expense of hosting such an event, CR has opted to work with MVP Track Time promoting their Mid Ohio track weekend. We hope the CR members will join us for a weekend of road course fun at Mid Ohio in October. There are three run groups as noted below: Novice - Little or No Road Course Experience (Qualified Instructors Available) Intermediate - 10-20 track days Advanced - 20+ track days and licensed racers (SCCA, NASA, PCA, etc.) You can expect six, 20-minute run sessions each day. Mark assures me you will go home tired with your fill of track time, well until the next track event. Registration is handled via mail-in registration (with a check) or on-line using Pay Pal (MVP accepts all major credit cars via Pay Pal as well) and the on-line registration box at the bottom of the registration page. You can visit MVP's secure registration page on their web site at: http://www.MVPTrackTime.com/id47.html One thing is obvious, MVP's track events fill up fast. Their Putnam Park track weekend near Indy in April is down to the last few spots in the Novice group. I'm assuming it's because MVP hosts a good event and what I've read on other forums supports this. Mark also pointed out MVP aren't car snobs. As the owner of a Cadillac CTS-V, he told me a story about passing Porsche 911s in the CTS-V at Mid Ohio two years ago. You'll see everything from Alfa Romeo to Z28 at the track. All are welcome. If you have any questions, please direct them to Mark Pfeffer (Feff)
Smokey
Very cool to see, and reasonably priced as well for the weekend. Not to deter from Mark's event at all, but I think we could still organize a small CR convoy up to one of Nelson's Fundays this year for the more frugal members that are looking to check out a track day. If you have any questions contat Mark directly he is a great guy to talk to and knows his stuff about road racing and track days.
Feffman
Hi All: Brian thanks for the post. Over and above the call of duty! :bangbang: Put very simply I started MVP Track Time becuase I got tired of spending my hard earned money for track days and then HOPEFULLY getting four run sessions per day, especially after a 8-9 hour drive to places like Mid Ohio, Road America and Road Atlanta. We schedule six, 20-minute sessions and sometime squeeze in a 25-minute session or two in place of those 20's. Cost: Single Day $250 Weekend $350 One of the funniest things I've seen at our track days was a guy driving an older Ford Escort wagon in the advanced run group passing nearly every high dollar marque, inlcuding my Lotus Esprit V8, on the track. It was nothing short of classic. The driver later fessed up it had a Cosworth built Ford 4-cylinder, but a hoot none the less. Hope to see you guys at Mid Ohio, or any of our 2009 track events. Please feel free to call me at (314) 249-3770 if I can be of assitance. Happy Motoring! Feff Edited March 12, 2009 by Feffman
MrMeanGreen
Excellent, thanks Mark and Brian for helping set this up. I know it's quite a bit more expensive than a drag day, but it should be worth every penny.
Sparky
Nvm, I figured it out. Would auto-x be considered track events or no?
AJ
Nvm, I figured it out. Would auto-x be considered track events or no? i would say no since they are way different speeds and types of tracks.

Youl'll be a step ahead and likely have exceptional car control but what the organizers are looking for here is more stuff like awareness of flags, surroundings and passing rules. Alex L.
I think I'll have to get me and the old man up on the track. I need to test the Teins on the SC300 out even more. Are we going to do the 17th, 18th, or both days?
Feffman
I suppose I will have to buy a helmet sometime. Mud: Call the good folks at Simpson Racing (www.TeamSimpson.com) for a good helmet. Make sure it's an "SA" rated helmet SA2000 (good until 2010) or SA2005 (good until 2015) is fine. Feff
