RedRocket1647545505
Welcome to persistence hunting. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9wI-9RJi0Qo Basically the idea is you chase after a big animal in 100+ degree heat and it eventually passes out from heat exhaustion. Because we are relatively hairless and have the ability to sweat much more than any other animal we are able to run over longer distances at higher temperatures. By walking on two feet you are slower than on 4, but you use less energy allowing you to run for longer distances.

zeitgeist57
I am very impressed. There is a display of not only true endurance, but ultimate respect and gratitude for the fortunes that they are able to enjoy as superior hunters. Great video. Thank you for posting. I enjoy learning new things like this.

Avenger1647545502
See, I always wanted to try something like that. So I went to the farm down the street, and it turns out it is INCREDIBLY EASY to catch a cow. Probably not the prey they had in mind, but then I'm not exactly Tarzan over here. Science Abuse
Tried chasing some deer once, they had less trouble with fences than I did.
Avenger1647545502
It's true about the humans vs. animals thing, though. If you take a horse and make it run a marathon at the same pace that a human does it, it'd KILL the horse.

Takes about 5 minutes of running around in circles, but you can get them if they don't get to a burrow.

Hadn't considered that. They do have a pretty tiny heart for their size. Most animals are only built for short bursts.
