Damn you Dish Network satellite 129.

I think this is due to the Eclipse season (satellite anomaly). When they say position 129 they mean 129 degrees orbital location. Which would be Spacebus 4000 C4's slot in the Clarke Belt. Fall is the time of year that there are alot of Sun-Conjuctions and the Satellite Companies (EutelSat, Intelsat, Echostar, SES, etc) shut off the transponders on the satellites to avoid total failure of that satellite.

What should of happened is that Dish Network move services to a different satellite with the same beam coverages to avoid an outage.

I do this kind of thing for a living everyday switching services, provisioning of circuits, etc. but still is an assumption on my part from just reading that first article.
