for a uber cheap build... one thing i will say with the 775 i have more options when it comes to motherboards in the cheap range...

If you HAD a board, that would be different but from what i've seen performance wise, the little extra you'll spend on sandy is well worth it.

eh it will be used mostly for web surfing movie watching. far as games go it will play some i sure... but hell i run at times on a old computer thats ehh prolly 10 years old. have another thats prolly 4 years old with a am2 amd set both run it fine with low graphics set. i prolly leaning towards the 1155 side.

Go to micro enter, they'll sell you an i5 2500k with $60 off a matching mobo. I caught my CPU on sale for $150. Usually $179. That is THE bang for buck CPU.

I just did an i5 and z68 mobo and it's retarded fast. Micro center has a deal for like $239 for both. Go buy and don't look back.

Yeah just built my mom a an I5 2500K system. total was like $600 and that was with a 20" monitor because all she had was an old HP 17" CRT at home.
