Have you confirmed the concavity of the faces with those sizes? Why not just call work and ask them what sizes are on the blue one?

I was talking with Revspec whos selling those wheels and they said deep concavity for the sizes I was looking for.

Yea the blue one has +30 all around with Cusco coilovers and fender mods.

front stretched.

Don at Accelarated bought a gold set (18x8.5 +47, 18x9.5 +38) from Revspec.

He said he will send me pics once he puts them on the car.

Revspec only has one set left(black) which I'm trying to pick up, but I would like to wait for suspension companies to come out with reasonably priced coilovers

Why is that? confirmed they fit

A +47 in 8.5 wide is SUPER high in offset for a lot of cars... I'm shocked it fits. I figured there would be wheel/suspension clearance issues for sure, but if it's confirmed a fit.... wow. That means people could run like a 10 wide on the front and something outrageous on the back with a little work.

Stock rims are +48. The rim will be really close to the suspension, and he won't be able to run too wide of a tire (235 at most I think) but it will fit.

There's tons of room in the back. Lots of shops have said with the right offset you could fit a 10" or 11" wide rim back there.

This car is set up to *look* really cool with stock power, or put some serious rubber down for high power. But it will take a lot of work, or future FI versions, to get to the power levels where a 11" wide rim is needed for more than looks.

Good shit. I would be safe to say that a 10" drag slick could easily fit.

Only if the vw aircooled engines crank and rods could drop in the block, then a shit ton of stroker parts would be available.

Tried to call, but got your voicemail.

It's pretty easy, but you have to be careful or you'll break a fastener.

Flip the rear seat down and unplug the third brake light from underneath.

Then remove the 4 black fasteners that were behind the seat. Pop out the center and then pull the whole fastener out.

Then you have 4 white fasteners holding the rear package tray down. You can see them in this pic:

http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8025/7372338200_248c57faf9_c.jpg

The two in the middle you get get to from underneath. Just pinch them with your fingers and push them up.

The two on the sides are tougher. You'll have to bend the tray upwards on each side to get the edges out from the C-pillars. When you do, it should come free of the fastener on the left side. The one on the right you'll have to carefully pull the tray off of.

Once you have the tray off the fasteners, remove the tray and pry the fasteners out of the metal. Then snap them back into place in the package tray.

Be careful pulling the tray out as the sides can mark the c-pillars.

When you want to re-install it, just feed the wire through the center hole, slip the edges back into the c-pillars and then snap the fasteners back in. Don't forget to reconnect the light and replace the 4 black fasteners. And be careful when you reinstall it so you don't damage the window tint since it'll be so fresh.

Had Andy (AudiOn19s) detail the BRZ. As always, he did a fantastic job. This is how the car should have come from the dealership when I picked it up. It's a sin what they do to brand new cars.

Andy needs to take care of all those chips and that big patch in the center where he burned through the paint. :gabe:

Looking good. You likely just upped the chances that it will rain in 48hrs though.

Just got back from the FR-S test drive event. Their cars were running TRD springs/dampers with a TRD exhaust. Even with the autotragic the car was a ton of fun to drive. We all took the cars through an autocross and the car was very competent, on this particular course, I think it would have been faster than my MZ3. With me focusing on turning quick laps, I was able to very easily pilot the car into a 50 second lap, with my roommate's intent on being the neighborhood Drift King, the car was equally willing with the TCS/VSC sport buttons off netting him 52-53 second passes.

Edit: Video's uploading, here are some junk cellphone pictures in the mean time:

Just got back from Accelerated Performance. The exhaust is nice. I'll have a better review later.

btw, if you like Supras, you should drop by that shop. The BRZ must be like a toy to them because I think mine and Don's were the only cars there with 3 digit hp.

I also did the FR-S driving event this morning. I was not able to get the traction control off, I tried, but did not want to damage the plastic cover they put on it.

The car handled great, had decent power, and very little body roll. It would have been nice to drive it on a normal road some and try it with stock supension.

I was amaze at how well the car went through the course. My wife also went, as she is looking for a car (A5, G37, 370z) and she wanted this one over the A5. So we ordered a BRZ this afternoon from Hatfield and another place in Dayton, see who gets here first.

Over all I was very impressed with the car, little tight in the cabin for my 6'5" body, but we had a great time there.

There are 2 BRZ's on display at the Parade of Homes too. Can't sit in them though.

the thing was fun

it has a little bit of transient understeer.....which is likely due to the damping characteristics of the car.

It sounds good. One of The guys running it (AJ) happened to be a friend of a coworker of mine and he showed us how to disable all the traction control and other dumb shit for both our runs.

The little thing sure is a blast to drive and the steering wheel layout with the seating position are simply fucking perfect.

As an interior design engineer, it is evident that the interior is VERY cheap. the seat materials, lack of some covers, the quality of the roof liner and the pillar trim pieces are all VERY cheap looking and feeling.

I was surprised I was able to sit fairly comfortably in the back seat with someone sitting in the front but still the interior room is very much not at the level of even an E36 BMW coupe.

I think the BRZ limited is the way to go where at least the seats are trimmed with superior materials. On the FRS, the center IP and the HVAC controls and the radio all feel also extremely cheap and feel like they come from the 80s (not good)

Well, got the exhaust. Review from my journal on FT86Club.com:

I was up in Toledo today to get the Accelerated Performance cat-back exhaust for the BRZ. It's a nice shop with a good crew. Their development BRZ was parked out front, and I think our two BRZs were the only cars there that didn't have 4-digit hp numbers. Supras galore!

So I drove up there to save myself some shipping and Don offered to hang the exhaust for me. It went on pretty smoothly and looks great. There are pictures in AP's exhaust thread, my car looks much the same just black. The tips fill out the bumper cutouts well and make me wish I had the underspoiler to frame them.

Power wise, there's no real appreciable increase on the butt-dyno. But I wasn't expecting anything from an axle-back. There are two greater restrictions in the exhaust well ahead of it, so the cat-back is not where power will be made.

On that note, I got to drive the development BRZ briefly. It had the stock exhaust back on, but it was fitted with AP's intake. It was surprisingly loud. But at the top end, there was noticeably more power.

As for sound, it sounds great. Good volume without being obnoxious, and it sounds pretty good. Personally, I've never been a huge fan of equal-length header N/A 4 cylinders. And I've had turbo Subarus for years now, which are difficult for a 4cyl to top. But as N/A 4s go, this one sounds good.

There is no highway drone. Only if you drive with the rear seat down or removed will you hear the very slightest resonance that I can't be sure isn't just the tires. So no worries about drone.

When romping on it, the exhaust drowns out the intake sound tube. I may remove it in order to neaten up the engine bay. But sound-wise it seems to be a non-issue with this exhaust.

I put together a video to try and convey the sounds. I tossed it together with a couple free programs, so it's not the best, but hopefully it'll convey the exhaust notes.

Overall I'm happy with the exhaust; looks good, sounds good. I'd definitely recommend it.
