I thought someone here posted a link to a product / process that they really like and I'll be damned if I remember responding but can't find it.

Detailers: What's the best stuff for black? Now that I own two black Beasts I will need to invest.

Thanks.

I'm not sure if this was one of the threads you were remembering, but I'm still sold on 22PLE for any black car, and for a new car: http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=110112&highlight=addison

For other vehicles, I clay bar then use Griot's Paint Sealant applied with a buffer.

I have heard nothing but GREAT things about the 22PLE. I'm a big fan of the Chemical Guys products as well.

How does that Blackfire stand up to Zaino? I've used zaino for years and it always lasted at least a year before it was stripped off. I've used over the counter polishes/sealants and they came off the car within two washes.

Used Zanio for years until I tried BlackFire Diamond. Then I tried BlackFire BlackIce and forgot about the Diamond sealant. I detail the car twice a year and it stays shiny and clean longer, and water just beads up and runs.

Doesn't last as long. much easier to use, subjectively looks a little better on dark / black cars. I'll preach again looks are subjective...and highly related to the amount of prep work done on the car.

http://www.amazon.com/Wolfgang-Deep-Gloss-Paint-Sealant/dp/B009W3KHSQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1436365581&sr=1-1&keywords=wolfgang+deep+gloss+paint+sealant+3.0

This is my go-to. I usually wax over the top of this with some kind of traditional wax (Megs #26 this last time) for added protection, but this stuff alone stands up to dozens of washes and makes my black G8 pop. Easy on and easy off.

My personal preference based on protection / ease of use / looks for black is Blackfire Wet Diamond

Remember though...the look is going to come mostly from the prep work not the final product on top.

Wanted to thank you again for the great recommendation and help with selecting great products. To those even remotely interested in paint correction, Andy is a great source of information. I did very little serious correction work ever, outside knocking down scratches on the minivan. This year however, I really invested in a nice buffer and products that Andy recommended and found the process quite easy and safe to do.

I put two days over the course of the first few weeks into the Audi and got it to about 95-98% perfect. Very few areas need touched up and the products are fantastic. Happy to pay-forward the insight and advice Andy gave. I consider having done it right as I spared no expense and in the end only spent about $400 total, all in from scratch.

Ordered up a bunch of goodies from Blackfire including their BLACKFIRE BlackICE Hybrid Montan Sealant Wax and gotta say I love it. I also ordered their BLACKFIRE Wet Diamond Polymer Spray.

Neither is cheap but man they are good. Slickest and most hydrophobic like properties in a product I've seen.

Completed 2 coats today and will likely do 1-2 more in the coming weeks. Goes on really smooth and comes off flawlessly. No streaks or anything. Just crystal clear shine. I can tell I'm going to be addicted to the Polymer Spray. OUCH !! $$ but that's okay if turns out to be as good as today's impressions show.

Not the best pics as they really don't do it the justice it deserves shine wise, but you get the point.

This last one is a closer shot of the crap on top of my cabinets as reflected in the hood.
