In the most recent meeting of the 2 teams, Alabama didn't even look like they should be sharing the same field as OSU. They were embarrassed. By a 3rd string QB. With essentially home field advantage.

 

I know you will do your best to forget that ever happened, but the rest of the sporting world loved watching alabama lose in the most spectacular fashion imaginable.

What do you want Congratulations!? Alabama was better back in the day? What's that doing for you today. If OSU lost to Michigan State week 3 I'd be really surprised if they weren't 4-5 in this current poll and if they played like they played Michigan (at home) they could play with and more than likely beat any team in out there this year.

 

Way to many distractions and various other issues including coaching that killed us there year. But the talent is way better on OSU this year than last year when then KILLED ALABAMA. I don't care if the score showed it was a close game OSU dominated that game with a 3rd string quarter back and only kept it close because of their own mistakes.

 

Short version if you want to remember the day when Alabama was the best thing since sliced bread then live on. But OSU is way more relevant. 'bama' not a bad team but IMHO over rated and the only reason they are in the playoff this year is because the continued hype over the SEC.

Sadly, this is true. Old Nick Satan has the best of the best talent wise down in bammers land, but still couldn't beat us last year.

All bs aside, it's easy to say that bama and osu are the top teams when it comes down to it.

The last 15 years is close. Alabama has more national championships 3-2, but without looking the stats up right now I'm almost certain Ohio State has a better overall record, better bowl record, more conference championships and more BCS bowl wins, along with more playoff wins as of now. Each of us cheer for our team, and our conference, and that makes sense, as stated already.

 

What I am noticing, is that the only time "they" give/gave OSU any credit was when it was used to defend "their" teams loss.

 

I am seeing credit go to both the SEC and Alabama by OSU fans, though, on the regular, all throughout this thread.

At the end of the day, the only thing we can go off is the game last year and the realization that these 2 teams are an extremely close match. Congrats to Bama for continuing to be successful every year, and congrats to OSU for the same.

Some easy inaccuracies to point out here...

 

Bama has 2 national titles in the last 5 years. 2011 where they got a rematch they didn't deserve against a team that had already beaten Bama at Bama and 2012 where they only got in due to Ohio State's bowl ban.

 

And I have no idea what 2 years you're saying Bama "came close" but if you're going to talk about "coming close" it doesn't get any "closer" than Ohio State playing in two more national title games between 2002 and 2014 that you're failing to mention.
