max power
Thats my point, You should be able to get a lot of 1999 bikes for 3k. Unless this one is in stellar shape, I'd keep looking. There are lots of hungry sellers out there.

progrmr
I looked at 2 bikes tonight - a '97 GSXR-750 and a '99 Kawi ZX-6. You should have seen that GSXR-750 - looked good from a distance, up close was a total loss. The chain was so loose (and at the rear of the adjustment) that it was laying on the swing arm (less than 10K miles)! The chrome was coming off the thing all over the place, paint was scraped off the gas tank, gas damage all around the gas cap, a chain/wire rigged around the rear brake to actuate the rear brake light, LED turn signals on the rear, one side didn't have a cover, rigged up switch to turn the radiator fan on/off, the carbs wouldn't keep up with the throttle return when cutting the throttle...it was a mess, just terrible. It ran ok, - I sat on it and revved it up a couple times and it scared me to be sure...but I'd never buy it. Well, maybe for 2K so I'd have a grand left to try and fix it up, but it had many problems. The 600 ('99 ZX-6) was in a really good shape, some minor damage up around the front wheel fender, other than that it was in perfect shape. strong throttle, but definitely wanted to be warm. New tires front/back, everything stock. Really a fantastic bike and the clear winner tonight. CBR600 F4 tomorrow - but if that one doesn't fly I'm buying the ZX6. max power
what about the F3?
progrmr
what about the F3?Ah - forgot about that one, have that one Friday night. I'm hopeful. I'm tempted to just buy the ZX-6 because its sooo clean and 4 years newer.I just checked the ad again for the F4 I'm supposed to look at tomorrow...has a rebuilt title - says that it was because there was a bolt broken off in the frame...??Here's the ad:http://columbus.craigslist.org/mcy/1129026206.html - what do you all think? I'm thinking about skipping it because of the rebuilt title.I also tried to email bdruggan10r about his buddies' SV650 even though they're light on the power. I'd still like to take a look but I didn't get a response today. Gonna try to email him again.
bdruggan10r
I got your e-mail and I forwarded it on to him. He told me he sold it that day. Sorry. As for that F4. If that trully is the reason for the rebuilt title. Go for it. Just may make a difference when you sell it, but for what you put into it now, you wont expect to get much out of it if and when you sell later anyway. vroddave
f4 is nice. i wouldn't worry to much about the title. it has to be inspected before he could have gotten a title for it.
progrmr
Thanks for the heads up bdruggan10rI'm gonna check out that F4 - at least its been inspected. Pretty good looking bike in the pics too.
