The main coast road through Maryland is primarily a 4 lane with lots of traffic lights at the Southern end. As you enter into Maryland from the west you will find very nice mountain and rural roads that can get you East into Baltimore. Camp David is not far off of 70 and there are many nice roads in that area. From Baltimore I would hop on 50 and cross over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge into Eastern MD. Hopefully you will have a little time to tour once over the bridge. You will find lots of small little island communities that dot the way as you travel over to Ocean City.
