Ohio Riders 2010 - You decide

Take a look, let me know what you think. Anything posted will not be kept, so don't post anything important. Look around, play with the new features, etc. After you've taken a look, vote. Do you like it more than the current site? Or should we stick to what we have?

If you like it but have other suggestions, post them here. This site is for all of you, so your suggestions really do matter. Some stuff we have now on this site isn't quite working on the dev site, but everything will be. I just want your input on the look and feel of the site.

My notes:

- You can add authors to your blog. So say you and a buddy are building a drag bike. You can add them to your blog as an author. Also, you can rename your blogs.

- Social groups are a LOT more useful now. My suggestion to these groups would be to register your domain name (ID: www.ohioslowandgo.com), and point it to the social group page. As a social group admin, you have full control over your group. I'm adding more features to the groups as well (like calendars, mass messaging, etc). It's like you're own website right here on Ohio Riders.

- Soon you'll be able to sync the calendar with your own via ical.

The dev site is slower right now. It won't be if we go live with it.

The banner in the upper right doesn't rotate yet. This is by design for testing.

hmmm... will have to look. The only thing bad about 1.0 is how the Craigslist integration craps up the search.

I can fix that easily enough, and have a separate search for Craigslist ads.

I like it. The craigslist takeover was bugging me.

Are you keeping the playlist on the user CP?

How will notifications incoming be displayed?

The basic search box on the header looks a little off center (too high), but it might be this computer.

edit: the forced resizing of too large pics is appreciated. Mucho tired of scrolling left and right to read...

It is a little more bare, I think that has a lot to do with the limited selections across the top bar. It seems more organized. Overall I am liking it. I did notice empty links on the "sub bar" under the "groups tab"- Link 1Drop Down Link 2Link 3.

One of my suggestion is for attached images... I know it does it on the current site too.

When you have a mouse rollover it makes the image larger (blacks out the background), can you turn that damn thing off? I don't know if it's a flash or java script thing, but I hate it. Just turn it to mouse click instead of rollover.

Seems to be more "white space" (or gray with the skin I'm using).

Just feels "empty" - hard to put into words; kinda like porn - I can't define it, but I know it when I see it...

I'm gonna use it for the next couple of days and perhaps I'll have different thoughts.

I still have a little messing around to do to fix some colors and stuff like that. Little things like the tabs in a user profile (http://dev.ohio-riders.com/member.php?1-Casper) are pissing me off. :lol:

honestly, I don't know if i like either one or the other "more" I'm just so used to the navigation on the old page, that it's almost like a reflex.

If/When it gets implimented, I'm sure i'll get used to it.
