oldschoolsdime92
Pulled from Triumprat.net, and theres tons of info on triumphtorque.com alsoThere is a 'Freeware' (yes - I said FREE) program available called TuneECU that operates similarly to TuneBoy, in that it allows direct programming of the ECM by a software interface and USB/OBDII adapter cable. Currently is available for tuning Triples (sorry Bonnie guys) 675 Daytona & Street Triple885, 955, 1050, Speed Triple 885, 955, 1050 Tiger and 1050 Sprint 955 DaytonaRocket IIIThe software is down-loadable from several sources:The developer's Skydrive - http://cid-ced9b0857c70aaec.skydrive...e.aspx/.Public*Note that a new server address will follow shortly and be updated accordingly. There are many tunes available (OEM & custom) for download from Tom's One Stop TuneMap ShopNew tunes are being added constantly, so check back frequentlyThere are two versions: TuneECU lite (current version v1.2) is a diagnostic only program TuneECU (current version v1.5.3) is the Full program which includes both Tune Editing and Diagnostic Functions in a single program. *You must also download & install the 'key' file in the same folder as the program file* Cable: Cable is readily available from EBay etc - Triumph actually uses the same ISO9141-2 protocol as used by Volkswagen/Audi and so a VAG-COM OBDII/USB cable works perfectly. Here is one source I have used myself - fast shipping out of Washington State or BC for our US & CA members. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/USB-V...item5ad95120bd(there are many other cheaper sources, shipping from China) Do a search on your local Regional EBay, from wherever you might be. Here's a couple I found for The Brits & Ozzers (no personal experience of those sellers) Here is Oz source - http://cgi.ebay.com.au/VAG-COM-USB-K...item1c1273b346And UK source - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/006-UK-VAG-COM...item335cc67ee4Do a search on your local Regional EBay, from wherever you might be. Once you receive the cable, install it using the drivers from here (not the supplied driver): You need to download the latest FTDI Chip virtual port driver - ver. 2. 06. 00 for Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7 - or other appropriate to your operating system. http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htmSimply plug in the cable, let Windows 'find' it, then when it asked to detect & install automatically, decline & direct to the folder with your downloaded FTDIchip driverThis install process is explained in the TuneECU_Description pdf - available here in French, English & German versions. New English version for 1.5.3 added (by alx) available http//cid-273ab44004b1c00e.skydrive.live.com/self.aspx/.Public/TuneECU/TuneECU%5E_1%5E_5%5E_Description%5E_En%20Revised%5E_by%5E_ALX.pdf"]hereOEM tunes and a few custom tunes are available for download from the sites referenced above - these TuneECU files have a .hex extension and are not compatible with Tuneboy (& vice-versa) You can retrieve your own currently installed Tune by connecting and executing 'read map' from the program file, after which you can save it and re-edit as you choose. Here are some Screenshots of the program Diagnostic ScreenFuel Table Map/Editor ScreenThe Editor also has a nice 'map compare' featureYou can view graphically the difference between two maps at any rpm interval (you can compare the elements of any of the maps - fuel, ignition, etc) Compare ViewCaution: as with any of the tuning software programs, be aware that you have the potential to damage your engine if you do not know what you are doing. If you do not have access to a dyno, you should only consider loading proven maps into your ECM. Be aware that this is freeware - the developer has created a terrific platform for we Triumph users and is generally helpful to inputs and questions. But recognize he is not being remunerated for his effort and you should not expect the level of customer support you may find with a commercial program. oldschoolsdime92
I used this to get my bike straightend out. I got ahold of a tune with a sprint overlay based off the speed triple offroad tune. My bikes never ran better.

oldschoolsdime92
sounds like it. Once you download the tune ECU you need to get the key. which can be found on triumphtorque... And you put the key in the same file as the tunecu. Once you get the key in the same file, and have your cable, and your driver installed, and you just plug the USB into your computer, and the other end into the diagnostic port. Turn your ignition on, and it should connect to your ECM. triumphtorque has alot of members whom are very informative on this topic. There is also a tuneECU lite, which has worked with good success also. http://www.triumphtorque.com/messageboard/thread/103171-Free-OBDII-Software.aspxheres the triumphrat link to the ECUtunehttp://www.triumphrat.net/ecm-and-fi-tuning-help-tips-and-tricks/

jporter12
Wow! Triumph uses a regular OBD2 port! Cool stuff! I love to see options like this available! For anybody without experience with ECU tuning, be very careful, and don't make any big changes, if you mess with the maps any. Keep your changes below 2-3% at a time, to keep from hurting anything. The ideal plan would be to take your bike over to DTM and have Brian help you out with tuning it on the dyno. A few $$ to him would be well worth it to not screw up your bike!
