GS1000 FS / FT I'll take what I can get for it at this point

For sale I have an early 80's (not exactly sure right off) GS1000 for sale. I originally bought it because the soon to be wife is an aspiring air brush artist and we were going to use it as a starter project. Well as most things do other things took priority and now we are staring down a little more than a month before the wedding and funds are running low.

It's not a terrible bike, someone tried to do a kentucky paint job on it, so a some paint work would make it really sharp. Has a stage 3 jet kit in it as well as the performance air cleaners (came with the jet kit), and a Vance and Hines header. Has new brakes as of last season, and new tires the year before that. I just put a new battery in it this year as I figured no one would even look at it if the battery is junk. Has 31,XXX miles with a full maintenance history.

At this point I am just looking to get whatever I can out of it, I traded a gun and a boat for it when I got it. I have it for sale on a local car lot for $1500 - which of course is over priced but I will take anything reasonable to help out with the wedding. Might even be able to work out a trade for a decent smaller bike and include the Glock 22 I have in another posting (of course this would be a "wedding present" to the soon to be wife - or at least thats how I would spin it to her.) She really wants a litte sporty bike to ride around with me on, here is the other posting http://www.ohio-riders.com/showthread.php?t=62696

My buddy is having me sell a 1982 Kaw 440ltd. the right size for smaller guys or a lady, plenty of pep (belt driven), and if she is an aspiring painter it comes with three tanks. A Sporty tank which is currently on it, a stock tank that has a few small dents and another stock tank which is perfect and already primed just waiting on paint.

so what is "reasonable"? cause people are saying they would be all over it if they had the funds, so clearly $1500 is way over board. is the "real" price closer to like $750?

I had a guy offer me $1000 and never came though on the deal. $800 seems like a reasonable price to me to let it go for what it is. I have a little over $900 in it, so if someone can come up with $800 they can ride it home.

so does it run reliably? everything works, etc? the only thing wrong being the horrendous homosexual paint job?

the reason i ask is cause i'm considering buying this for my old man for his bday present and while he SAYS he's ok with a fixer upper, i think if it had actual problems, it would just sit in his garage and then i'd have to sell it for him later.

as far as price, that's a lot closer to what i would believe is realistic, but i'm sure we can find a middle ground somewhere if it came to that.
