Yea, I bet he thought he should of been untouchable because of his positions back then, not sure what political job he had then. Anyway not defending his action but everyone says dumb things that I bet they regret while in politics. Example President Obama said in 2009 that the Cambridge police officer was stupid for arresting some professor that taught at Harvard.

Gov. Kasich to sign jobs bill today

COLUMBUS — Ohio Gov. John Kasich is scheduled to sign a bill today that’s key to a campaign promise he made to transfer the state’s job creation functions to a semi-private, nonprofit corporation. The bill sets up a framework for JobsOhio and its nine-member board that Kasich would chair and pick. It directs the Department of Development’s interim director to review the state agency’s duties and see what could be handed over to the new entity.

The legislation moved swiftly through the GOP-controlled Ohio Legislature this week. It won bipartisan support in the Senate after lawmakers changed it to address some questions about ethics and public access. Most House Democrat said those revisions didn’t go far enough.

Many public records, open meetings and ethics laws would not apply to the entity.

Yay.

Governor Kasich proposes $10 hike in vehicle registration fee

Awesome. Instead of taking money from the richest 2%, we'll just take it from EVERYONE. I thought Republicans weren't socialists?

COLUMBUS — Gov. John Kasich’s administration wants to hike the cost of an Ohio vehicle title by $10 while eliminating a $20 late fee for driver license renewals.

The Dayton Daily News reports the proposals were rolled out on Wednesday and are part of the Republican governor’s transportation budget.

Ohio Department of Public Safety spokesman Geoff Dutton says the higher title fee would provide $31.5 million in annual funding for the State Highway Patrol.

Under the plan now before an Ohio House panel, motorists who currently pay $15 for a vehicle title would instead be charged $25.

State officials say that’s still below the $32 average they found in a survey of 27 other states.

Dutton says the late fee for renewing a driver license has been “hugely unpopular.”

Infrastructure is mostly socialist.

I guess I just don't follow the reasoning why. I'm sure you will have a long winded explanation citing examples and sources that I will probably too bored by to read :D

In my mind its as simple as if you use it, you should be held responsible for helping to cover the costs. Obviously if you are registering a vehicle then its direct proof of use of said infrastructure.

What I understand about socialism and what I hate about it is me having to pay for something that I don't use or will most likely never get the benefit from. This also explains my hatred for welfare and social security.

You don't use ALL the roads in the state, but you pay to maintain them ALL.

You don't use the prison system, but you pay to maintain and support those facilities and people too.

Don't get me started on the prison system. You have no idea how much I hate the fact that people who have intentionally murdered others and the evidence without a doubt proves it to be them are allowed to mooch off my dollar. A 9mm bullet is what, 85 cents? Put that in their brain and be done with it. None of this decades of costing ridiculous amounts of money

I feel the same way about the money wasted processing traffic citations. No turn signal? Boom! Headshot motherfucker!

Kasich forbids broadcast of budget announcement

http://www.mansfieldnewsjournal.com/article/20110314/NEWS01/110314017/1002/news01/Kasich-forbids-broadcast-budget-announcement

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- Reporters have been told they will not be

allowed to broadcast sound and images from the Tuesday release of Ohio

Gov. John Kasich's budget plan.Spokeswoman

Connie Wehrkamp says journalists can bring only pens, notepads and tape

recorders to the afternoon briefing, where Kasich is to announce the

first details of his state spending blueprint for the next two years.

She says videos and photos will be prohibited and the audio may not be

used for anything but checking accuracy.Members of the

Statehouse press corps registered complaints with the governor's office

on the matter. They noted a lack of precedent for such limits on their

ability to cover a governor's budget release. An invitation-only town

hall meeting later Tuesday will be broadcast on government television.

Emphasis mine... hmm, wonder why?
