I've temporarily lost my mind and if I can find a deal today then I'm going to do it.

Musts

$4k or less

turn key and not beat to shit

fuel injected

preferably low-ish mileage

the closer to Cleveland the better because I don't feel like traveling, just wanna ride

What's up with the Vfr?

needs tires and probably a regulator. Due to when and where it broke down it was just easier to have Pauly pick it up and take it to his place. He's backed up in the shop so it'll probably be down awhile. Plus buying another bike would be a huge F.U. to a certain individual that needs a reality check

Haha. Well, best of luck with both endeavors.

Buy Pauly's FZ6.

it crossed my mind last night but trying to avoid basically having 2 of the same style of bike.

Didn't think you would ride a Sv 650. What about a ninja 650?

for the year price and condition I'd take the SV because it'd be easy to sell quickly and at least come out even on it.

Soooo I know nothing about GSXR's and found this for 4k: http://cleveland.craigslist.org/mcy/2448735491.html

The '04 model GSX R 600 and 750 were huge improvements over the '03 models.

They got a lot lighter, changed to inverted forks, and changed to radial mounted calipers. Even in the previous generation, the engines were strong, but the '01-'03 chassis was a pig, so they were a lot of work to ride fast.

I have no experience with the 750 per se, but I have been around Grapesmuggler's '04 600 quite a bit before he owned it. This is how I know that the starter/ignition module is one of the few parts NOT shared between the 600 and 750. I bump-started one many times :D

anyway, they are good bikes. The only thing I would check on is to pull a microfiche or service manual online, and see if there are any minor changes between 04/05. That would indicate that the factory acknowledged a design flaw in the first-year model run of that particular generation. If they felt the need to change something, that probably means it was causing people headaches...

I don't know whether or not $4500 is a decent price, but if you offer $3500 in cash, and end up splitting the difference, that sounds about right to me.

so I just noticed somehow like an asshole I put this in the wrong forum. Anyhow, I'm giving it til the end of the day to find something and if I don't then I'll just attempt to suck it up and wait for the VFR to be back in action

Not to rub it in, but I just got my 05 r6 for 3500. But... Putting $600 into it before I even ride, so... Meh. Good luck.

i know what ya mean, my 636 i bought last year I got for $3500 and just need an $80 rearset. Thing was almost minty with 2k miles on it. Deals are to be had, its just finding it when I'm looking is the issue

this is like the 20 millionth thread about you buying a second bike......youre not gonna do it

its the 2nd. probably not but the right deal i would. The SV that was posted I would've bought if still available. Not to mention this is a completely different situation than in the spring

a friend of mine has an '04 ZX10 for sale. I think he's asking $4300 maybe?

it's got a bunch of track parts on it, and track bodywork right now, but the wiring harness is intact, and the title is clear.

not sure what he's really looking to get out of it. I've been encouraging him to post the bike here as well.
