I'm Down

I really do want to go down to the Gap, but a lot of people are telling me that I'm stupid for going two weeks before my wedding. They said that if something like this were to happen down there it could totally screw up all the plans.

I had a really, really bad case of sun poison on my head for a few Weeks right before my wedding and my wife flipped out, luckily it ended healing up enough and I grew enough hair back to the point it wasn't noticeable just 3 days before my wedding date. My wife was about ready to delay our wedding for a few Weeks if it didn't heal up. That shit was nasty, my head was all yellow and pusy and oozed everywhere.

Worst come to worst you could just delay the wedding if something happens, but then you would never hear the end of it lol. If your fiancée is cool with you going though I don't see a problem aslong as your leg is feeling better. No one should be knocking you down for doing something you want to do, hell you could just as easily break a leg slipping on a wet floor.

Nobody listens to doctors. 90% dont know what they are doing anyways.

Make the trip regardless even if you just put around you'll have a great time.

please dont listen to these jokers. as someone with just under 10 years of professional medical experience(and even longer of personal knee injuries) take it easy. Knees will take you out in the long run, so take care of them now...for your and your familys sake.

That being said you cant tell much in terms of ligament or tendon damage from a knee xray. While i have personal experience, i'm no ortho doc so make an appointment to go see one. MRI could shed some light on how extensive the damage is or, hopefully, isn't. You could even get a script for PT and minimize additional injury.

Good advice. I would def go see more than just the ER doctor.

I am supposed to go see someone for PT in three days. Does anyone know a good PT Dr. or Knee specialist in the Gahanna area? It needs to be close because it is difficult for me to drive since I have a manual.

if the swelling went down and pain subsided you might be lucky enough to escape some major tendon damage. But like sturg said, tendons in knee joint is kinda flimsy and if you dont take care long standing damages can happen. Eg: U might have a small tear in one of the tendons, if you dont rest and let it heal it might completely tear apart causing life long probs on top of crappy cost to fix it.

Now the question is does every one need an MRI? nope, if proper knee exam and clinical exam comes out okay u might be good with rest alone. If abnormal i would personally like more investigations done

well i hope i scared you enough to take it easy :D, GAPS on the road, you can hit them any day in your future, GAP in knee will mess up every day in your future :nono:.

There is 3 female doctors at 170 Taylor Station Rd that list physical therapy, on my United Health Care search. 614-545-7900. I've never been there.

Next closest is 3 docs (1M/2F) in New Albany at 5040 Forest Dr Ste 300. 614-890-6555. Never been there either.

Not sure if OSU Dodd Hall takes people, but I'd bet that's the best in central Ohio.

edit: wait... Dodd Hall lists inpatient. But the website lists Gahanna YMCA as one of the locations for outpatient. There ya go.

I see that your physician will have to fill out a Patient Referral Information for them to accept. May or may not be easy.
