I had an '82 KZ550LTD for my first street ride, after I geared it waaaay up it would still hit 100 and kill most 750's the first 500ft :D

Of course mine was I-4 vs. your I-2 so power was much better to begin with.

Nice find man! Cafe that bitch and make it unique!!

my 550LTD was an 81...

bad ass bike for a 9 yr old.

Especially after a Kerker 4-1 meg, stage one kit, pod filters, and 6 up on the rear - ran awesome, but a lot of shifting. If I remember right, your '81 actually had a factory headlamp on/off switch whereas they did away with that feature on '82's. Had a buddy with an '81 440LTD that could go stealthy after somehow tapping his rear lamp power into the headlamp circuit :D Not that a 440 "needed" to be stealthy for any particular reason :lol:

Looked a 440LTDs before getting my 454, 2 completely different bikes. My GF is selling her first bike, 82 Suzuki gs300l and that thing had trouble going 60 with my fat ass on it :lol:

It does have the fancy gear indicator though :D
