I'm officially on probation in St Louis and have never been arrested. Could have paid the ticket and gotten two points. Went to the court date and prosecutor would only offer deferred sentencing.

The problem I see most often is signs alone aren't effective. I commute to/from work on the turnpike and the 18-whoolers don't give a flying fuck about speed limits signs or construction zones. No cop? No enforcement. Money spent without results is likely.

This tech has been used in the Eu for some time, it is solid.

Funny story.. Amanda got knicked for speeding in a 25mph zone. If she had been using a handheld device, she could have taken a safety course that lowered the points to zero. Since she wasn't on her phone, no distracted-driver discount applies. Full points. Full fine. Why create laws that won't be enforced? If this ARDOT system actually works, I will be surprised. Are there similar programs in effect that yield satisfactory results, or just more government pandering without the side effects of actually working?
