  1. They also tend to mind their own business concerning other countries problems and turmoil, the USA could learn a thing or 2 from that.

  3. Yep. Much better than when you picked it up. Now just paint that red bracket flat black.

  4. I think you guys are throwing in the towel a little too quickly... The only places in the article I am seeing where the US is beat is in the 20th and 30th income percentiles, and only by Canada and Norway. Both Tiny nations population wise, with large chunks of their economy fueled by natural resource extraction. I think the rear comparison should account for both government transfers (handouts) and purchasing power.

  5. I'm not even going to begin to critisize or try to point out what the kid is doing wrong because he's obviously not doing much wrong. He's not old enough to go to the buffet line at Golden Coral without a parent, not tall enough to ride 90% of the rides at Cedar Point or even touch the ground on an XR100 and he thru down a 55.8 without even trying. Passed me on the inside like it was his job and prob hasn't even had his first hard on yet. That kid has raw fucking talent. He doesn't need to get off the bike. Plenty of top GP guys don't get off the bike.

  6. And this its the problem we have in the inner cities. The poverty and lack of education now extends over three or four generations. We now have parents raised by people that know nothing else, know nothing else themselves and are raising children that will know nothing else. I don't know how to fix it.

  7. I'll meet up with turnone and go from there... I'm not racing so, maybe I'll ride? Be interesting trying to secure the stand to my bike... Might not be a good idea

  8. But I saw a turkey! And then your next ride you get rear ended because you got afraid of a car that was turning and there was NO blame for the person behind you.

  9. Yes, shooting animals in the head while not hunting is cruelty, people are charged and convicted of it all the time. Now answer the question.
    1 point
  10. Dunno. But if there is such an order then cruelty to animals would apply. You have been all law and order in this tread saying Bundy was wrong. I stayed out of it because I agreed and needed to maintain my record of not agreeing with you on anything. But you need to apply the law equally and fairly to everyone if you are going to go law and order on us. So, baring evidence that the BLM agents acted in self defense can you agree that they either owe Bundy restitution for the cows, or if they were given possession by the courts then they are guilty if cruelty to animals?

  11. Had the afternoon off so I hit the above roads. There is a new giant gas station DQ/Subway going in at 212 and 77. Would be an awesome meeting spot. 212 is a bit rough but not bad at all, no pot holes, no major patches. The bottom 1/3 of 164 starting at 212 is awesome, the new pavement held up fine over the winter and the pipeline people seem to be gone. The middle third is decent, no issues. The top third....about 3 miles south of Monroeville there is a damn cow standing in the middle of the road right over the top of a blind hill. I should have shot him. Then just past him there must be a new coal mine or something because there was an inch of coal dust on the road where the trucks were entering the road and it was a mess pretty much all the way up to Monroeville. After that it was clean, and 644 was fine.

  12. Nevada law regarding killing someones livestock if they are trespassing on you land. 569.440. (b) If any owner or occupier of any grounds or crops trespassed upon by livestock entering upon or breaking into his grounds, whether enclosed by a legal fence or not, kills, maims or materially injures the livestock so trespassing, he is liable to the owner of the livestock for all damages, and for the costs accruing from a suit for such damages, when necessarily resorted to for their recovery.

  13. Passing a semi on 271N on my Katana at a somewhat dickish rate of speed (20-25+ over traffic). Throttle goes dead. Pull over to the side of the road -- glad for dickish speed as I coast around the truck with my tach reading idle. Park, kickstand, Progressive on cell phone, glad I opted for roadside assistance. God, it's windy out here. I'm getting pushed all over the place. Maybe I should put my bike on the center stand while I'm on hold. Turn around just in time to see a huge broadside gust nudge my bike just far enough forward to collapse the kickstand and dump itself on the side of the road. So many cars. So much embarrass. Why is my Suzuki Katana pink-purple chameleon colors, Lord?

  14. Very sorry, hit the neg rep button by mistake. So I searched for old posts from you...found two in a knife thread and gave you pos rep on both of those. One to cancel the accidental neg and one for the pos you deserve for that pic.

  15. not until he learns to stick his knee out more Gavin has tons of talent, but his size is a double-edged sword right now. on the one hand, he's 100 lbs. smaller than me. That helps him under acceleration a bit, but it also means less lateral acceleration in the turns. Those of us who are that much larger will lose traction at a lower speed, because we're taxing the grip of the tires more. On the flip-side of that coin, where Gavin suffers right now is that he's not tall enough to reach down with his knee and save front-end washouts. IF he does lose traction, he's probably too-far gone to recover it. I am by no means awesome on an XR, but especially in the clockwise configuration at CRP, I routinely push/chatter the front end through the turn entering the back straight. Knee on the ground, it's no big deal. if your knee is up, it won't be for long, because you're tipping over. That's one of my big goals for this year - get comfortable with the bike sliding all over. And maybe keep Gavin in sight

  16. I planted Giant Sequoias but they were flew in by plane, delivered by vehicle and required the purchase of tomatoe cages, landscaping fabric and spikes. Doing literally nothing would be a proper earth day effort.

I been running stairs and going hill climbing for the last two weeks trying to get in some other shape than round. Might break the bike out this week to toss into the mix. Down 8 pounds in two weeks, about 50 more to go.

  20. My busa senses were tingling. I see there is a lot of dissatisfaction about your purchase. Let me try to make things right. How about I trade you an '03 for it, straight up? Or I'll trade you an '03 WITH prop rod, for yours plus cash... from you. Or, just the prop rod - $13,000 obo. I will personally guarantee that it was not touched by any 'grease monkeys', ne'erdowells, or generally anyone of the 'lower caste'. All my technicians have a minimum of two Masters degrees, 3 patents, some coursework towards a PhD, and all graduated at the top of their night-school culinary classes while attending Harvard Law, to make sure I only sip the finest Kopi Luwak brew and feast on fois gras whilst in their lobby lined of leather-bound service manuals. Help me, help you.

  21. Yes, that is correct, and it worked pretty well. Too bad it's past history. Now tell me where the current Bureau of Land Management came from. The outfit that is enforcing the current standards. And if those standards have approval of the congress or public. Go for it, I could be wrong. edit: btw, summary judgement can mean different things. Mostly "not a case by court and jury". Award is granted to one party and not the other without deliberation (other than the judge). It can mean one party was plumb loco, or it can mean there is no contestable law. Only summary judgement. Go back and read the Public Rangelands Improvement Act and see what the transgressions and penalties of the law are. There aren't any. Ergo, summary judgement without a trial. The transgressions and penalties can be anything the government says it will be. Which is sad. We need regulation, but not abuse. A fine line of tightrope to walk. The easy way out is to have Congress decide and make it clear. Maybe they will. Reading some more. Will Bundy ever make any headway with this? No, simply no. He will not win anything under any circumstance. Not going to happen. Neither will the people that support him.

  28. Where do the majority of our gun crimes come from? The overwhelming majority? Gun-obsessed NRA members? Gun collectors? CCW instructors? No, inner city minorities and drug violence. You want to change the culture but you're focused on the wrong culture. You have a hangup with people who own and enjoy guns, namely those who are reacting to the politicization of their rights....completely avoiding that you're much more likely to meet violence from a 17 year old black kid with a stolen gun than from me with a legal AR15. Majority of guns used in crimes? Stolen. Most frequent type? Cheap 9mm. The real ill, the real danger, is the shit culture and failed WOD that skews the debate and everyone is afraid to tackle because it involves the sacred cows of welfare and race. Remove those peaceful folks from the national statistics, and our gun violence rate is right there with the European countries everyone holds up as a beacon of sensible gun laws....and us without the need for such gun laws, because with a country awash in guns and "gun culture", we're as peaceful and non-violent as industrialized countries can be....all except for the drug and gang violence fucking it all up, and that has shit all to do with me and my AR15. As long as more people use guns to protect themselves than harm, and that's been the case for the last 100 years (even to include women, minorities, the elderly and gays), the "gun culture" is no such thing. It's a culture of victims and predators, and you're asking for us to abandon the most effective means of keeping a predator at bay and relying on fists, knives, and cell phones. That doesn't work so well for women, elderly, the diminutive, etc. Guns ain't the problem. The ghetto is.

  29. Look at the title of this thread. I knew the part number and the price on different parts' sites before you pulled out your $0-with-10yr-contract phone and started pissing in the wind. Yep you're not inept, just unable to connect the dots. This ain't the short bus anymore Bubba, pick your fights wisely. I am way past this issue but if someone tells me that I should spend money when someone else should have paid for it then they'll hear from me. You want to support the dealer because of some dealer affiliation go ahead, but don't expect me to not stand my ground. It's a matter of principle and if that isn't important to you, no one forced you to read this thread. By the way voicemails are all recorded. There is no 'effort' involved in recording a voicemail.
