I have 2 Givi tank bags that use the tank lock ring. Best tank bags I've ever bought and I've had several magnetic ones in the past. I used to always worry about sand and grit getting between the magnet style bags and the paint but not anymore. Also, I always managed to put the magnetic ones on crooked, especially if sticking it on while seated on the bike. This bothered me because I'm anal about things in general. I got 2 because I wanted a small one for things like sunglasses, etc when my luggage needs were meager and a larger one for trips when I need to carry a lot of stuff. They pop on and off very simply but are secure once on. There are only really two down sides - depending on your bike. 1) There's the somewhat unsightly ring on the tank when not using one of the bags if you have a bling bike. 2) If you have a GPS or phone mounted on your bars, it can hit the bag depending on the bike, bag size and mounting location. This can be an issue with magnetic or strap bags too but at least those you can change the position on the tank a bit to accommodate the needed clearance. With these, it's always in a consistent spot.2 points

Finally finished getting my new plastics painted and installed. All other maintenance done and ready for the next trackday. Thoughts on getting the wheels powder coated the same color orange? I wanted to before i got it all together, but now i'm thinking it would look better keeping them grey.1 point

Cherohola Skyway was epic today. No cops, no slow HD's other than the ones behind me, no campers or slow ass drivers. I didn't have to pass a single car or slow bike. Beautiful weather a little cool bit that is prefered. Never had a better day on that beautiful road.1 point

There is a bike night at the AMA motorcycle museum in Pickerington tonight. It starts at 5:PM and runs until 8:PM. Live band and the museum is open. I think it said something about a food truck also? Just thought I'd share the info on here. My wife and I are going to check it out.1 point

Stupidly Quick, Under-dressed, Imminently Dead. We all see that kind of stuff all the time (although it take a more discriminating eye to notice the condition of the chain and suspension setting). I used to get worked up at stuff like no gear, poor maintenance etc, but these days I just chuckle and move on. My motto used to be; "Anyone who doesn't wear a helmet obviously doesn't think there's anything worth protecting up there..." Now my motto is; "Just don't be in my health insurance pool."1 point

I've hit my goal and actually stabilized several pounds below it. I was pretty restrictive on the foods I ate when I was dropping weight. Now, I am trying to re-introduce foods and eat in a way that maintains my current body (lower) weight. This part almost seems more challenging than the diet.1 point

You shouldn't need framework if there are D-rings or strapping points on the bags. A couple of short cinch straps under the tail to draw the bags towards one another should be plenty to keep them in place.1 point

I am going to use it to make my voice heard by as many people as I can. If I can save one person's life, then it will be all worth it... Also it aired for less than a minute and they brushed it off like it was nothing1 point

My StepDad rode a Honda Dream 305 in the 60s, but he never had a bike while I was growing up until he gave me a little XR75 when I turned 11. He bought himself a Trail70 to putt around the woods on. We had a blast camping, riding, and hunting together when we had those little bikes. A few years later he gave up riding and sold off both bikes to upgrade me to a CR125 that I got into all kinds of trouble on. He never did ride again and died young back in '99, but thanks to him winning the battles against my Mom's wishes, I got a fairly early start on my motorcycle fetish and continued to pursue my love of it ever since. My Father has ridden his whole life, and took me for rides when I was a teen and visited him in Florida. Since he's moved back to Ohio a few years ago, we've taken a couple short rides together, but no long days now that he's retired and has bad shoulders. Anymore his saddle time is mostly straight to a local destination and back on his triked Wing. So if it weren't for my StepDad's gifted dirtbikes, and my Father's biker dna....I'd probably be one of those "car guys". I tried influencing my daughter to get into motorcycles when she was young, but she never really took interest in it. She did enjoy a few rides around the neighborhood when she was 4 or 5 on the back of my YZF and her grandpa's Wing though. I'm a believer in raising kids on/around bikes so they can make up their own minds whether they like 'em or not, but in my opinion if they never get the opportunity to try it - you're doing wrong by the kid.1 point

The reality is that for most events that aren't riding based, you get a % of people who show up in vehicles anyway. Those are the people who should be bringing the grill, etc. Don't take the enjoyment of riding out because you are too worried about your trailer.1 point

Got the little 125 running. Drained the tank, cleaned the carb. changed the oil and the boy was off and riding. He rode it up and down the hill until dark. Thanks Walt and nice meeting you.1 point
