  2. I'm with Tonik and Tpoppa on this one. Prefer Sunday but will ride sat if have to. Just hate wet roads, just can't run a fun pace. Looks like all roads will be wet all day.

  3. The real question is, how many people are hitting refresh or checking in periodically to see if the ride is delayed?

  4. We use Dollar General if that happens, we used them last fall.

  5. Jesus just go to Dick's Sporting goods and buy some Frogg Toggs for 60 bucks. Jesus you sport bikers make shit complicated. Then you will need a tank bag to put it in, and forget to order the adapter to your gas cap. Toons, bunch of toons.

  6. I am running an A Spec rear right now. Mounted it up a week or two ago. I really couldn't tell a difference other that maybe a stiffer sidewall. They claim it is an extra ply. My bike is 640 wet weight, so i figured I should try the A Spec. My VFR12 is right around 600lbs. I run an A spec rear and a regular front. When I bought it it had a new set of regular GTs mounted. I run the A spec with 2 less psi and it feels pretty much the same to me...ymmv

  7. Oh, it's a Tapatalk notification. You are on your own, I won't deal with those asshats. But if you read the current Android reviews you will see their shit is majorly broke and notifications are all f'd up. But their system for tracking all of your web usage and location is working fine.

  8. My mother-in-law took her bicycle up the Skyway, today. She made it to the TN/NC border before she turned around. That's ~50 miles, up and back. She's pushing sixty years old. She's awesome.

  9. This isn't a how to so much as it's a Chronicle of how to bring a bike back from the hellish torments of a non-mechanic. A week ago I traded a pistol to a forum member for his non running kz750 twin. He said he never really messed with it, didn't have time. Was happy to trade it for a running pistol and 20 Rds of hydroshock. Bike had no air box, instead had emgo pod filters, which are worse than nothing at all. After a few hours of the usual things you go through on an old non-runner I had it firing. I wish I had time to document everything right now but my lunch is over. More to come.

  16. I believe the next major update will be 12AM when NWS issues model corrections. Have seen the weather change completely opposite, but looking at the radar rain is eminent. Light rain is not so much a worry for me, it's the 50-62 degree temps. Cold and wet is miserable.

  18. One thing to consider guys is a church parking lot on Sunday morning may be awfully busy so might need a contingency plan for that too. I've not been to this meet spot so not sure if it's even necessary but thought I'd throw it out there for you

  19. OK.... shit wrong with this bike so far: (Note: this is not an indictment on two wheel, the member I got this puppy from, just an expose on what happens when people don't understand what they're doing. I don't think he even worked on it) Bike was born with electronic ignition from what I understand. Cdi, hall effect pickup all that stuff. Someone shitcanned it all for points and condenser with centrifugal advance and two enormous automotive ignition coils. Omg, so kustom. Air box deleted, cheap shitty pod filters clamped onto carbs. Not only were the carbs not jetted up, the pilot jets had plugs pressed into them. Idk wtf. Because the air box was gone, so was all the plumbing for the secondary air injection system, but the two spigots on the valve cover are still there, and get this, someone took the reed valves, that are supposed to let the pumped air in and keep exhaust gasses from escaping, were flipped so that hot exhaust gasses constantly bark out of the two little spigots. Petcock was completely borked. Vacuum deal, constantly on, bolt blocking the air hose. Bought a rebuild kit and dove in, the spring is missing that shuts the gas off in the absence of vacuum. petcock was in so bad of shape that it's not salvageable. Ordered replacement on Amazon. Turn signal relay and associated wiring is just gone. No idea why. Turn signals are still on the bike. So this is gonna be a tough row to hoe, but I'm stubborn as fuck so I figure by the middle of June I'll have a respectable bike.

  25. Anything under 38 on the rear on the street with sport touring tires will reduce tire life considerably. It will also negativity effect handling and feel. Sport touring tires are designed to heat quickly at higher pressure than a sport or track tire. 36F and 40R is a good starting point. If you have a heavy bike or weight over 200 pounds, I would go up from there. I am 300# with gear and also run a GT spec rear and normal front. There really is no decernable difference between a "GT" spec or regular tire that I can feel. My only indication was about 2500 more miles on the "GT" and a much more even wear pattern, kept its profile and did not flat spot.

  41. My advice would be to avoid this group if TimTheAzn is part of it. He will ride like a hooligan, get the law called on you then leave just before they get to you, leaving you to deal with the fallout. You have been warned. I advise looking for a more mature riding group unless you desire the scrutiny of law enforcement. This is why I ride to the meeting spot alone because it's much less risky. The epic ride is usually much better organized and safer for us non hooligans.
