  11. Looking to clear my garage a little, and there's no way I'm getting rid of the Ape. But the scooter is taking up valuable garage space. 50cc of Italian two stroke scootertastic joy. Oil injected, so no premixing is required. 50 mph, and 50 mpg. The gas tank holds a little under two gallons. Hate shifting gears? As a bonus, this has a CVT transmission... twist and go. $700.00.

  13. I let @JustinNck1 slide since he saved my life last fall. But you are stealing from Bridgestone driving the costs of tires up for everyone else. Shame on you!!

  14. Good idea. I'll be looking into it this spring. Supposedly my health insurance covers 100% of everything after my $3,000 deductable but who knows. I don't trust anything insurance companies say.

  21. I had 2 life flight rides 2 year apart and medical mutual covered 90% of both of them. I added a extra rider at work for accidents a month before my 2nd crash but it didn't take effect until Jan. 1st. I crashed in Nov. That was 2 years ago and so far haven't needed it. The first crash state farm would only cover my helmet 2 years later they covered all my gear other then my heated liner. Boots, gloves, pants, jacket and helmet. Very thankful health insurance or I would be living in a box under a bridge. $100k for the first one and I was only in the hospital a week close to that for the 2nd.

  22. A rider is an add-on provision to a basic insurance policy that provides additional benefits to the policyholder at an additional cost. Standard policies usually leave little room for modification or customization beyond choosing deductibles and coverage amounts. http://www.investopedia.com/terms/r/rider.asp

  25. I would defiantly replace tires with that much age on them. There's nothing like the feel of fresh tires anyhow. In my experience with Kawasaki inline motors a little noise at idle isn't a bad thing. When they get quite its most likely in desperate need of valve adjustment. Reed valves do have a tick at idle and if it bothers you can easily be blocked off. As mentioned by Whaler cam chain noise should come in to play after spooling it up and cutting the throttle.

  26. Kawasaki air injection uses reed valves and they tick at idle, its pretty common. The sound should go away as soon as you rev the bike. Cam chain rattle usually only makes a sound when coming off a rev when the chain unloads briefly.

  29. I disagree, that paragraph should be removed. He is a biker and sounds like he may help. This is a decent response. This is a process gang, I have been down this road. Next week we call all the asshats that didn't respond.

  30. I received a response, and they are going to take acton: "Thank you for emailing Senator Balderson regarding concerns with earphone/earplug use and motorcycles. Senator Balderson received your message and asked me to look into it for him. I contacted the Ohio Department of Public Safety and they researched the issue. They concluded that it was inconsistent with state law to have that paragraph on encouraging the use of hearing protection in their motorcycle handbook, and they will be removing it from future editions. They also told me that if it is something we would like to change, it would become a legislative issue. I have talked to Senator Balderson about potentially formulating a new bill that would allow motorcyclists to wear earplugs for health reasons to prevent hearing loss. Although I certainly can't guarantee anything at this point, I wanted to let you know that we are aware of the issue and are looking into it. Senator Balderson is an avid motorcyclist himself, so he is always interested in helping out fellow motorcyclists. I will stay in touch with you if I have " :smh: Apparantly, common sense has no business in legislative or beaurocratic matters.

  32. Nice job man!! I would be interested in showing up if he/you thinks it would be helpful. Here are some factoids to toss at him. While it is hard to be certain it appears that around 30 States already allow ear plugs. California started allowing them in 2004 and we can find no reports of issues because of this change. Noise levels at only 35 mph are in the range of 110 to 130 dB. Every doctor and hearing expert in the world will say over 85DB is bad news and will result in permanent hearing loss. This is NOT a loud bike issue, this is about the wind noise that is reaching these dB levels. Federal Law REQUIRES hearing protection over 85dB in the workplace, it is immoral for Ohio to require us by law to be exposed to levels far in excess of that. Some articles that contain testimonials from doctors and so on. http://www.ideastream.org/news/earplugs-helpful-but-illegal-for-ohio-motorcyclists http://legalmatch.typepad.com/businesslaw/2015/09/motorcyclists-object-to-state-laws-forbidding-use-of-earplugs.html

  33. Response from a Representative: Received your email and would like to meet with you to discuss this matter in greater detail. I realize that you are in class Mon-Fri and I am down here Mon evening through Thursday. Would it be possible to catch breakfast sometime on a Saturday morning? Probably the best I can do at this point given our schedules. I probably should add I personally know this Representative. He was my high school history teacher and basically ran his campaign from local friends and family support. Anything specific you feel I should bring up? Obviously the idea that the ear plugs are a safety concern. Other thoughts?

  34. On April 1st I will be able to store my gun in my car at the school I work at, because the politicians listened to us. Now us gun nuts are far more organized than us motorcycle nuts but it was still a grass roots movement, not the NRA, that made this change happen.
