  1. Just over 4 days, a little more than 1300 miles, 4 states, & 2 countries. 4 women, 2 Ducati Monsters, 1 Yamaha R6, & 1 Silverado carrying a Supermoto and all the rest of our gear. Unfortunately our trip contained a crash not long after we crossed into Canada from MI, and after a 5 hour delay at a hospital we continued on without our injured rider. Luckily she only suffered broken bones and road rash... it could have been much worse - the whole thing happened almost right next to me and was very surreal. Once we arrived at the event, there were bikes everywhere at the campground (all kinds from old Royal Enfields to BMW GS1200s to Triumph Scrambers to Harley cruisers and a few supersports). There were 550 women that arrived for a weekend of camping, free drinks, karaoke, live bands and some really beautiful riding thru the Catskills of NY. The weekend was perfect for riding, until Sunday when we left for home. We left early trying to beat a storm, but still hit downpours thru PA that soaked us completely thru our raingear, so we had to stop to dry out and wait for the storm to pass. This was an epic journey for me as I've never taken a motorcycle trip, let alone go camping, all with women I'd never met in person either. I had such a great time meeting women riders from different states and going on my first all women group ride (there were 15 of us)! It was a blast and I hope to go back. And, yes there were lesbians there...

  6. Skipped the first part of the Natchez due to more storms. Just out side Jackson tonight will be doing most of the parkway tommorow. Got some sweet pic at the Mississippi River. Stayed dry today and hit some nice road down 7 through Arkansas.

  11. Correct, 100k. Hardest thing I've ever done on two wheels! Quad crushing climbs, jarring descents, and I lost my keys early on in the race! Phone locked in the car, don't know wife's cell # to bring me a spare, so I spent most the race trying to figure out how to get a hold of her. All aid stations had no cell service, so no help there. Got to the last aid station and told them my situation to which they replied "O you mean these keys?!" and held up my set of keys as a light shined directly on them from the sky above! I've never felt so relieved in my life! Was able to really enjoy the last few miles, cept the day took it's toll as did all the sugary gels and heed drink. Felt like throwing up the last few miles, but made it in. Hit a max speed of 45 on some gravel roads, fastest I've been all season on either road bike or MTB! I was able to pass people on the gravel, but they would pass me on the trail. Need more single track work... Had a great time and will be back next year! https://www.strava.com/activities/1019617885 https://www.relive.cc/view/1019617885

  15. School zone or not, that is a monumentally stupid place to speed. Independence and Seven Hills police have virtually nothing better to do. It's a nice place to live. Even Parma, as much as I enjoy joking about it, was a nice, quiet place to live. Not the lowest crime rate, but a low violent crime rate.

  16. I didn't really train a lot for this. I do ride the road during the week and get to trails around the CLE area when open. Spent some time on the trainer over the winter, but not as much as I wanted. Will be more dedicated to trainerroad over this winter, just enjoying the outdoors now. I've only been to Mohican twice before the race, once was last season. It isn't needed to go there every weekend, wouldn't hurt though! I just started MTB riding last summer and am by no means super skilled on the trails. I plan on doing it again next year and bringing out a few other friends. If thinking about it, do it! It was an amazing experience. Just try to get as much climbing or simulated climbing done before next year and you will be fine.

  20. Good thing we have our very own SV650 test rider here that made sure the engine will go 120k+ hard miles before it starts burning oil so long as it is maintained.

  21. Pretty sure last night's hotel had doctored or fake planted reviews. No way was it rated as high as I seen. At least it was cheap. Reasons are too many to post just don't ever stay at the Super 8 in Clinton, MS.

  26. For the record, parts in. Charging 14.45 at idle like it always does. Aftermarket volt gauge looked normal for 25 miles. I will run it to work tomorrow but it is fine

  27. Don;t know of one. But they're most Jeepers - you should be able to get through more difficult stuff than the average Jeep can. A Jeep with 30's, winch, big lift, etc should get through damned near anything. Keep in mind that a lot of these passes are really, really rocky. Not the best surface for beginner off roaders. Hard to stop and turn on. But take your time and go slow and you'll be fine. Bikes can run hot at elevation with slow speeds, so take time for the bikes to cool down. Have fun!

  28. At the request of @Bad324 3 lbs eye of round roast (or London Broil) Cutting the meat is the most important step. Trim off as much fat as possible. Cut into slices 1/4 inch thick (the more constistent the better). Cut with the grain of the meat. Tip** it's much easier to cut if the meat almost completely frozen. 1/2 cup Soy sauce 1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce 1/2 cup Terrayki sauce (or pineapple juice, or Coca Cola, or anything sweet) 2 tablespoons liquid smoke 2 teaspoons salt 2 teaspoon ground black pepper 1 teaspoon meat tenderizer 1 teaspoon garlic powder 1 teaspoon onion powder 1 teaspoon paprika 1 teaspoon chili powder Put everything in a large ziplock bag and refridgerate overnight. Takes 5-7 hours to dehydrate. Time depends on your dehydrator and how thickly you sliced the meat. You'll wind up with something like this. Way better than store bought and healthier.

  32. I am 6'3" started on a 600 f4i and next to a GSXR1000. I did ok but also spent a ton of saddle time on that 600 and then dropped a tooth on front sprocket and raised two on the back before jumping to 1000. I had another Marine Sgt tell me in Iraq that he got back he was buying the same GSXR I had. I asked how much ride time you have and his reply was "never ridden but I'll pick it up quick". I suggested that he started on something a bit smaller to start and get his throttle control and basics in cement before the 1000 comes home. Of course I was a lower rank at that point so my opinion meant squat to him. So we return and went on our leave for a few weeks after being cleared by the docs. When we returned the same guy calls me and asks me to swing by his garage. I am thinking he wants to rub in my face he has a bike and he didn't need my opinion. Instead he walks me in a garage where I find a completely mangled GXSR1000. Instead wanted to know if I could fix it. Basically he bought one wrecked it leaving dealer (to much throttle and dropped it) dealer tacks couple grand on and gives him another new bike and his brother rides it home. Before returning to base he was riding and gave some throttle and bike wheelies high and he hits at least 80 before loosing control and ditching tossing the brand new bike down the road. Luckily his pride was the only harm done to him or bystanders but a new bike looked like a junkyard find. Sorry for the long post but in my opinion and lots of others shared above bikes with loads of torque and HP do not make first bikes as they are unforgiving. You may make it out alive but at the end of the day it's your life unless you are unfortunate enough to ride it into another motorist. If you start smaller and need to move up the small loss you may take on a bike to move up is less than the potential medical bills if you get above your skill level to soon.
