Update from the Family --- John took a great step today. He is now breathing on his own. They've removed the ventilator and I believe they are starting to remove the sedation. They are not allowing visitors at this time as he needs a ton of rest. This is incredible step from when I was there on Saturday! He truly is a fighter! Keep fighting John!7 points

So I appreciate the kind words about me, always nice to hear! Going forward I want to make sure our customers know that if they buy a Sena product from Riders Discount and are having issues to please call me directly or PM me within the 2 year warranty time frame. Appreciate the patience @thompsonian and @Connie14 with your issues, both of which have now been resolved. We love the Sena product and issues are few and far between but know that you are being taken care of if something does come up. Best Regards, Mike5 points

That's what happens when you specialize in selling decorative motorcycles to old people, then release that turd of a new Street Rod in a half assed attempt to attract younger buyers.2 points

"Bicyclists don't pay road tax" is a bullshit argument. MOST bicyclists also own a vehicle that they already paid road tax on. Yes, I said most, there are exceptions, but not very common. Maybe we should have a "Walker's tax" for people that walk on the sidewalk. Put a tax receipt (License plate) on your ass. Damn I should be a politician.2 points

It was the K1300S HP, not K1300S HP4. http://www.motorcyclenews.com/news/new-bikes/2011/november/nov0811-new-bmw-k1300s-special-edition-with-hp-package-/2 points

For those I'm not friends with on FB I figured I would put something on here for all that knew Ryan Hill. Last year after he passed I decided to buy his 750 and run the endurance race on it, it's something he wanted to do. We kept the group to close friends and just wanted to have fun and bring the bike home. We had myself, @RonStopable, @RVTPilot, and Bill riding with @TimTheAzn, @J_Copeland and Ron's brother helping with pit stops. I spent the better part of 2 months going through this bike trying to make sure it would survive the 4 hours. Ron and I haven't had a ton of suspension setup time and we made some poor choices when we were able to ride it. Friday came and we had no choice but to get it sorted. It's by no means perfect but it's very rideable by the end of Friday. We make one small change for the race Saturday and ride through any other issues that still persist. Things are going great until about the 3 hour mark when Bill comes in and says the clutch is starring to slip. We were determined to finish for Ryan epically since his mom came out to watch. The last stint I put is was probably the hardest I have had to do. Nursing the clutch on shifts and the bike only ruining about 120-125mph before it would slip made for very slow straights. Tim throws me a 10 min to go sign and I start taking to Ryan, asking him to help make sure the bike makes it. What feels like 40 min goes by and I see the checkered. I have never been so excited to see a checked in my life. Crossing the finish I started to cry and almost blew turn 1 lol. While none of us were setting the world on fire with the lap times it was a great adventure with a great group of guys. @Jester_ and @TRMN8TR were a huge help since they have ran these before and gave us a lot of pointers. Thank you everyone for the help. The shirts were also a huge success. I'll have more pics once I get them from @Photos by Marty and maybe Ron can post up what video he has from the gopro.1 point

NP...also the OP said he wanted 150+HP....even the speed triple isn't quite there! Personally i think that sort of power to weight has no place on the street, but i guess he did say possible track days.1 point

Better read that again. The UNITS i used were FOOT-POUNDS, not Newton-Meters.1 point

I was hoping it to be a non mach retard kind of day. A nice 10 to 15 over posted limits is perfect for me. Justin and i did that most of last week and it was a nice ride. Only time we wicked it up is when we passed cars or multiple cars. Not that I can't keep a mock retard Pace I would rather just not do it all day long that's where I get myself in trouble.1 point

If I wanted you dead, you would be dead. I know where you live, I don't need to drive around hoping you might pass by on your bike.1 point

I had my life threatened by two groups of hilljacks on SR 78 on Sunday. I swear, I'm no longer riding without a GoPro and a gun. A buddy and I come up behind a jacked up truck. He starts swerving, and driving on the yellow line or in the left lane. It's immediately apparent he intends not to allow us to pass him. So my buddy goes around me on his S1000RR...the fastest bike of anyone I ride with by far, and gets on his ass. He starts to go left around white truck hilljack and is almost pushed off the road. He makes it past. Then I do the same thing, except my pass was more sketchy and around a blind corner, cause ol inbred didn't have the nuts to cross the center line there. So we are ahead of him and start to pull away when we come around he next turn and there's a stop light and a one lane road for construction. This is in the middle of nowhere near Burr Oak. Now, I see we're going to have to stop with this blow hard right behind us. We get to the light and there are two cars to our front. We both are checking our mirrors to see what he's doing to do, and as soon as the door to his truck opens our kickstands come down and we dismount and prepare to defend ourselves. 'Ol' few teeth' starts in on us about how his wife got run off the road by us down on 78 last week, and how we're going to kill someone. I politely remind him that we weren't down there last week, he was the one driving on the wrong side of the road for miles, and that he also has a tail light out. This didn't curtail his anger. Its then that I notice a man and a woman, both wearing cut off tshirts needing a laundering, both with less than a full mouth of teeth between the two of them, walking toward us huffing and puffing...presumably not from the slight walk up hill on their tired, tar filled lungs. But because they are angry too. The man is closest to me and begins yelling at me about sport bikers on 78. He squares up and says "what's up then?!" as if he's like to fight. Now, had I taken him up on his offer, he'd be fistfightimg someone with full SNELL head and face protection and essentially wearing built-in brass knuckles. But I preferred to remain assault charge-less and declined. I would have wrecked his face. Then his fat wife says 'you try to pass us up here and we're going to run you over'. I think k to myself, 'I'm not taking the chance' and I wanted out of a situation in which I was steadily losing control. I quickly hop on my bike, ride through the fat couple. The fat man tries to grab me, then pushes me, and I ride through the red light, one lane road and attempt to leave. They hopped in their van and followed. I maintained a safe distance in from of them, while they tried to keep up dangerously. i probably rode 10 miles and couldn't see my buddy behind me, and I had put a few hundred yards between the van and I. I could have put more but I was worried about speeding in case the incident had been reported. So I pull over at the state park to wait for my accomplice. Then I see the van taking aim at my bike. He pulls just past me, barely missing me as I pull away. I check my mirrors and he had jumped out of the van, fists in the air, saliva and foam shooting from his contorted lips. Ready to rumble....again, with someone that would have knocked him out in the first punch, and someone in which his direct punches to my helmet would have caused him more damage than I. And I meet up with my buddy and we rode off... We hadn't been down there in weeks. I don't know what these people were angry, but they threatened our lives. 2 groups of them. And it's not the first time. I am making some changes to how I protect myself while riding from now on. This event was the last straw.1 point

I did 1300 miles on my Monster averaging about 80 mph... when it got too windy, I just tucked, problem solved. I'd do it again, no hesitation. I wouldn't want to do anything like that on a supersport, ever.1 point

As a old white conservative guy that hates many taxes I agree with this tax. We pay taxes on gas and our plates to help pay for roads. Oregon has a huge network of bike lanes and stuff, it has to be paid for somehow.1 point
