  1. I don't think it's semantics at all. I think trying to frame this as racism it causing a huge divide across the country. That divide is arguably has a much bigger impact than police brutality. Let's be honest, the media & democrats LOVE to call things racist. That shit needs to stop.

  4. Agree to disagree. I think it's a police accountability issue caused by police unions. Try to reconcile this data against BLM's claim that "white supremacists" are rampantly killing blacks. About 80% of whites murders are committed by whites. Figures for police aren't drastically different. When the problem is misdiagnosed, the proposed cure is usually ineffective.

  7. I was left stranded near 800/22 with a 5 year old Yuasa. I turned off the bike to get a better look at a construction road closure that I had not anticipated. Saw an opening and knew I could safely get through without doing harm to the site. Hopped back onto the bike, turned the key, gauges swept, thumbed the starter and heard a pop..and everything went silent. EVERYTHING. A perfectly fine battery that never gave me one indication it was about to fail just screwed me. The Voyager's battery did the same thing last year, but I have no idea how old it was. To be safe, 5 years is the farthest I will push another one. I replaced the Ducati's battery when I bought the bike and keep the old one on a trickle charger in the garage for my bailout battery.

  8. New Yuasa battery arrived for Strom while we were out riding the Wing. Filled the cells, let it sit, charged it. Will install tomorrow. 👍 The old one was the original battery, so it’s 8 years old. I know, it should have been replaced sooner, but that’s another story. Now I need to see if my car mechanic wants the old battery to recycle the core.

  11. Paul, you and I agree on many things, some we do not. Even in the cases we do not, I tend to think than your opinions are intelligent and well thought. That's why I have these exchanges with you. That said, I agree with your statement except for this line "We are the racists." IMO "Racist" has become the most misused word in the English Language. It's thrown around way too frequently & for the Media and many Democrats it's become equivalent of "Aloha."

  12. It is an accountability issue, but it is governemnt wide. The police union has strength because those in power do nothing. Show me the numbers where government employees, including Capitol Hill, see the swift hand of justice when their atrocities are judged. Left. Right. No matter. We The People are the problem. We are the racists... if not at least very guilty of incredible amounts of apathy toward those around us. Stopping the economy in its tracks is what gets our attention. Dead children do not. Dead black children especially do not.

  13. Yup I think congressional term limits might help to a degree, but I don't see it happening. Career politicians were never the intent. You were supposed to represent the area where you live, serve your term, then go home.

  17. It's on my list. You and I need to get in a ride so we can swap bikes for a few hundred miles. Not necessarily, but I am really impressed with the overall build of mine. I have not ridden a RT since the 1150.. which was boring as fuck. The 1200 is a hoot and the RT is the best BMW tourer with that engine. However, rumor has it the 2-up qualities of the GoldWing are damn impressive. I also find the Wing more visually apealing than the RT, but both are dynamite tourers... and I used to ride a 1st gen Multistrada. I am used to ugly.

  18. Our Lake Cumberland SP trip got cut short last fall due to weather but it's on our list for a fall/autumn trip to Land between the Lakes on the west side of state. We have staid at Natural Bridge, Pine Mountain, Breaks and Cumberland Falls and have not had a bad experience. I like ending a long motorcycle day ride having a restaurant/lounge bar and outside seating near a room with A/C and a shower for a great price. You are so right about the hospitality.
