  1. 2 months of riding is absolutely ready for an R1. Don't listen to these lame assholes with their 250cc's of grandma power recommendation. If you don't have at least 150hp to the rear wheel you're considered a wimpy schmuck in the bro motorcycle circles

  4. Well, my favorite roads are all in the very eastern part of the state, probably too far for the amount of time you have: U.S. 33 from Judy Gap into Virginia and U.S. 250 parallel to it further south, 39 around Marlinton to the Va. line further south yet, 42 south from Mt. Storm, even that section of U.S. 50 along there, and all the roads that connect them. Can't go wrong anywhere around there. Ride up to Spruce Knob, highest point in the state, for some good views. The road is now paved all the way to the top. You can't go wrong with the route Bliz suggested, and if you want to extend it, you can reverse it and go south on 16 down to the Hawks Nest S.P./ New River Gorge area. I have had a far different experience from Tonik on the section of 250 he mentioned. Every time I've been on it I've been behind a parade of four or five slow-moving pickup trucks driven by farmers who are clearly going to live to be at least 175 years old and thus have no sense of urgency.

  5. Oh, and do you understand just how freaking retarded the idea of adding a motorcycle only lane? You realize that you'll be the first in line to bitch that the taxes just went up to pave that lane for the millions of miles of road it will stretch, right? Good one... Cool you Googled the accident reports. The thing you need to look at is congestion. The number of car drivers and that increase annually. That makes more sense. All I know is that you seem fine to sit behind a "cager" and be squeezed on all sides by these metal beasts with occupants with phones and everything else. I'd rather trust the fact that if a law, the car drivers will respect the law and we wouldn't have any issues than to sit in that traffic like you apparently are fine with...

  6. Medina and Tiger Paw - Are you guys over 60 years old? Reason I ask is that you sound like my dad that hates change. The idea on lane splitting isn't for hooligan actions and it isn't done at freeway speeds. The idea is simple. It reduces congestion. And, if you aren't riding like a twit, it is smooth and easy. We had a girl from Canada that was riding with us from San Jose to the MotoGP race and she had NEVER lane split. I asked her if she was comfortable in doing so and she said she would try it. She did it all the way down and back and was totally fine on a hyper strada with bags. The fact is that the lane splitting is essential for the safety of the rider. Again... Think about the idiots on phones, texting, fiddling with the radio, cleaning up the debris from their lunch and wiping the kid's mouth. Also understand that the one thing you should already have as an ability as a motorcycle rider is to watch the driver's front wheels. You will see the car pulling left or right before it happens. Plus, this is congestion based traffic. So, they are all bumper to bumper. You guys slay me with the whole "death will come" mentality... Cagers as you refer to them are all of us when we drive our cars. In CA, not one single guy even from another state got pissed and tried to squeeze us out or anything. There were some that were on the line and you had to tap the horn or rev the motor a tad and they'd move right over. If it were a law, the state would promote it, educate the drivers and it would be the norm as it is in CA...

  7. I don't think you guys understand... You do realize it will still be perfectly legal to NOT lane split if you don't want to even if something passes, right?

  8. I'm probably more for it than against it but with all of the fucktard drivers here in Ohio, I'm thinking we don't have a long enough riding season to justify it. Down south, definitely yes but there are still just too many idiots in the cages. And I see them everyday I'm on the road in the field all over Ohio for work in my white F-150 "how in the hell did you not just see me you fucking idiot" truck.

  11. Sorry so late, Chase matches up to 1,000 donated per employee so I hit both you and Carrie up for 15.00 and Chase will send Peletonia 30.00. I didn't see a Tax ID specific to you guys so just went with the basic. Actually shit, I didn't search your name but I think it's only the charities I can pull up. Either way, it goes for a good cause.

  12. This at bare minimum. If he balks, he has to realize that there were costs involved with you schlepping the bike down there, and that since he passed on it he is still responsible for those costs. If I'm placing a wager, I'm guessing he's going to pass on this and you'll never hear from him again. If you insist on making the trek without this, then be prepared for a sob story or some other thing that "comes up" that he'll want to knock the price down further. It's easy to get wrapped up in the "neighborly" ethos of CL, the reality is you're making a business transaction and you should make sure your costs are covered accordingly, especially when the seller wants you to go over and above. Hell, when I bought my 600RR (from here, not from CL, same principle applies) I managed to secure a van to drive down to WV, never asked the sellers for a thing. If this guy is willing to spend $2000 for a toy, he can't either come up with an extra $100 to secure a trunk/van, or even draft one of his friends for free to drive him up so he can ride back home?

  15. Rant about this silly fad: The whole point of the wagon is so the young children have nothing to grab onto but the wagon and just have a fun time being pulled by their parents/family. It's not "Hey, lets lower it to the ground, put stupid big tires in arms reach so that the kids can get hurt or jack it up 2 feet in the air and watch my kid want to climb out n break his neck". Or lets just make these so that the dad gets attention and really has nothing to do with their kids. The whole idea of modding these is fucking full potato. I'm sure 99% of these modded wagons haven't even seen a kid inside them. Now lil Jimmie, pose in front of the wagon like you're about to get in it and i'll snap some pics to send to my other hipster friends to show them my skills. :dumb: In the end I'm just thinking of safety when putting my young infants/children in a wagon since they have no control over their actions and are still in "curious lets grab everything" mode. This would be different if they were alot older. (Father of 10month old fraternal twin boys)

  21. Yup, it's been a hella long time since I posted but, whatever, I'll shamelessly request donations Long story short, I was fat, I started working out, now I'm slightly less fat, see proof I am slightly less fat. The more touching/sad story; Mark Nolan is the owner of the gym I go to, I used to work with Mark at Progressive. Mark’s sister was killed by her, then, boyfriend. In her honor Mark and his wife have setup a fundraiser for the Battered Women’s Shelter. If you’re interested in donating here’s my link: http://bit.ly/194yw3v If you're interested in donating, awesome. If not, really, no issues! If you want to come workout for the charity event, come on down!

  22. LOL, that video was nothing more than a support group of those who want to lane split. I didn't see anything safe the entire 14 minutes. Just three fanboi's stroking each other. Hey.......wait a minute......... I might get behind this if they allow texting while lane splitting

  26. Change your laptop HHD out for a SSD and be done with it. Install your OS and applications to your internal SSD and have an external SSD with your media. Nothing is more responsive then a laptop with a SSD OS... Just the way it is. As far as only having 50 GB... I'm sure you understand that one day, you will have 100... Plan for the future... Get something with more space now and save yourself the energy of having to upload all that data to a new and larger SSD.

  28. I'm real sorry to hear about your spill. That stuff happens fast, before you can even blink. It might be a good idea to just lay there and catch your breath for a moment to see if anything starts to hurt, as long as you are not likely to get run over. I don't know how much more damage could be done by jumping up too quickly, but just in case, I want to know what body parts are going to need sewn back together before I trust getting back on my feet. I'm glad it wasn't worse. .

  29. For a DJ gig, you really want the files on the laptop's hard drive. That is the most reliable option for a gig. What you need is a backup solution, which pretty much any portable hard drive would be sufficient. From what I remember of DJ software, it works much faster if you have all the files indexed in the program, and for that you would want the files to be local on the laptops hard drive so that it doesn't mess with the indexes when you use the laptop without the portable connected.

  30. Id say im in a position to take this pill. Long term relationship with potential marriage in the future. But I dont want kids yet and she does but still has school to finish. If we could start "trying" When she wants too. Which is the day we wed. Then I could take this till we are financially secure and ready and she wouldnt be the wiser. The above is going to sound wrong to most people but she thinks he clock is ticking on having a baby. And wants one now. but i at least talked her into finishing school first.

  36. I have to agree with those saying they wouldn't deliver it. If someone really want to buy something they'll figure out a way to get to you. Not to mention your wife has reason to worry so why act like an ass and call her nosy? The only reason your selling is because she got you the newer bike in the first place, right? Like baptizo said, listen to your wife. Good luck to you..

  40. Even more Motion Pro for you to choose from. Motion Pro 90 Degree Hex Driver Originally designed specifically for reaching those hard to reach screws on carburetors, the Motion Pro 90 Degree ¼” Hex Driver has a shallow, ¾” depth that allows you to reach into the tightest of spaces. This shallow depth combines with the 17 ½” length to make sure that there are very few fasteners that will still be out of reach. At the end of the tool you will find a gear drive that you can turn from the handle. Turns can be made in precise 22.5 degree increments thanks to detent, but this can be easily removed if you prefer a smooth, free spinning feel without the clicks. The gear drive connects to any of the six included bits, one of which is a ¼” square drive adapter for limitless versatility. One thing to keep in mind is that this hex driver was originally designed for carburetors, so it won’t be the best choice for working on large or seized screws and bolts, but it’s 50 inch/pound torque limit makes it perfect for any of the smaller, hidden ones you might come across. Motion Pro TiProlight Titanium Wrench Sets Need to pack a set of wrenches on your next ride? Motion Pro’s Ti Prolight set makes it easier than ever. These wrenches are made entirely of ultra-light titanium and, as a result, they are 75% lighter than standard steel wrenches of the same size. This means that you’ll barely be able to notice that them, whether you carry them in a backpack or somewhere else on the bike. Available in sets of 8/10/12/14mm and 8/10/12/13mm Motion Pro Hex-Pro Pivot Head Hex Wrench Sets - Metric & SAE. These sturdy wrenches feature a patented pivoting head that swivels 180 degrees from one side to the other, allowing you to pivot around obstructions without removing the end from the fastener. The ability to pivot, combined with the long handles makes it easier to access hard to reach areas as well. Metric Hex-Pro - Kit includes 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, and 10mm wrenches SAE Hex-Pro - Kit includes 3/16”, 7/32”, 1/4”, 5/16”, and 3/8” wrenches
