In. I get to randomly swap bikes with someone after the night's done, tho.

Hash that out via PM dude, lol. Re: discrimination - no faster way to lose a sale. hopefully dude takes it to heart for the sake of his pocketbook.

I can hear valve noise in my bike too, the pitter-patter stuff, but the new noise is slower and deeper. It's really hard to hear in my video clip. I'll get a better one at home today.

@crusher -- thanks, man, I'm kinda freaking out. I appreciate the dose of reality.
-
@Tpoppa -- I haven't seen too much on yamahafz1oa.com, not a member of 998. That'll be my next stop but I know there are a lot of competent mechanics on this site, and I always look here first. Dime -- I have a video clip but the sound was kind of washed out -- think I was holding my phone too close to the bike while recording. I'll see if I can re-do it this afternoon and get it on youtube for reference.

@whaler - 05 fz1, 20xxx miles on it @Casper and Tonik - have a hard drive, do not have the torx driver needed to disassemble to harvest the magnet. Did manage to find one shard of... something... in the oil that I still have. Didn't seem to be dirt... Was maybe gnat-sized and hard, couldn't break it up with my thumbnail, so probably metal.

Heard a new noise develop about a hundred miles ago, sounded like an intermittent tapping, not unlike a wobbly cam chain tensioner. It's not gotten a hell of a lot louder, but it's definitely more regular now. I can hear it more clearly from the left side than the right, Just changed the oil on Saturday morning. Felt something in the bottom of the oil that seemed... gritty? Didn't see any fragments, and I couldn't pick anything out of the oil after the initial touch, but was unsure if this was metal shavings or what. I'm assuming this is extraordinarily bad. Really kinda heartbroken atm.

In -- let me know. I'm good after about 11:00 AM (church) and up until about 4.

I was downing shots of fireball and $2.00 coronas yesterday. Unfortunately I was also driving so I had to cut myself off before I got into drunk internetting. Maybe next year.

I believe that both ends of the staple made it through. If it were just one puncture in the fat part of the thread I'd maybe think about patching it... think I'm going to get it replaced.

Picked up a huge staple in my rear tire -- sucker was completely flat when I went to ride on Friday. I can try to get a picture up of the wound if necessary. Anyone know of a good location in the Cleveland suburbs to get a tire patched or replaced? This includes private parties willing to do some driveway work for fair compensation and/or free beers.

Thinking of swapping cams in the bandit...
Ryan_c_F replied to Gixxus Christ!'s topic in Tech and Tips
Cost effectiveness-wise, that's a good return on your time and money. It's not like the midrange on the GSX-1100R was all that anemic anyway, haha. If there's one thing the Bandit has a surplus of, it's midrange. I'd say go for it if you're really going to use that part of the powerband on a regular basis. -
Anyone else get caught in the rain yesterday?.....
Ryan_c_F replied to JohnnyB's topic in Daily Ride
Yeah, I saw reports of wind gusts approaching 40 mph... decided to leave her in the garage yesterday. That fizzer catches wind like crazy. I feel like it's constantly trying to push its own tires out from underneath itself. -
I'd probably throw it to a cruiser built for distance like a Royal Star or something like that.
-
During deceleration and while I'm actually stopped. Dangerous curves, I may nod if anything.
-
You'd want to upload to a hosting site like imgur.com or photobucket, and then link using the photograph icon in the post box.
-
All of it. If it's above 40* and not actively storming, I'm riding anywhere I'm going.

+1 for starting on a Suzuki 805. Welcome, man. Lots of good people here.

GLWS. Think you might be optimistic about the price but it's selling season.

Haha, was going to say, from the music you said you liked you should have also checked into the Jacksons. And then you went and got an ESP that looks exactly like a Jackson Dinky. I play an LTD bass and it's pretty solid. Neck is a bit wobbly but it tunes easily and holds its tone. Pickups will probably be replaced.

I'm really, really surprised he didn't get a truck to the face when he was on the ground... I'm impressed that these kids had enough self control to stop the kid from beating the "gangster" to death. I probably would have tried.

Passing a semi on 271N on my Katana at a somewhat dickish rate of speed (20-25+ over traffic). Throttle goes dead. Pull over to the side of the road -- glad for dickish speed as I coast around the truck with my tach reading idle. Park, kickstand, Progressive on cell phone, glad I opted for roadside assistance. God, it's windy out here. I'm getting pushed all over the place. Maybe I should put my bike on the center stand while I'm on hold. Turn around just in time to see a huge broadside gust nudge my bike just far enough forward to collapse the kickstand and dump itself on the side of the road. So many cars. So much embarrass. Why is my Suzuki Katana pink-purple chameleon colors, Lord?

Yessir! Would have been wearing red and black gear, with a mirrored face shield. Also would have looked like a monkey on a tricycle.
