  1. Fear of heights and fear of loud noises are the two items almost everyone is born with. So it's normal, and it does take effort to overcome. Or not so much overcome, but to tolerate while still maintaining rational thinking ability. Your wanting to ride some roller coasters isn't a bad idea. Exposure to the fear without actually having a threat. A little work out on a trampoline might not be bad either. edit: I don't have a fear of heights. So it's easy to do something stupid. There are good reasons to fear heights.
  2. Apparently too far South. Michigan saw some. Pics get posted on spaceweather.com Here's some pics for Marquette Michigan last night: http://spaceweather.com/submissions/large_image_popup.php?image_name=Shawn-Malone-_MG_3599_1335252714.jpg Here's a surprise, they saw this in Iowa: http://spaceweather.com/submissions/pics/s/Steve-Yezek-003_1335241981_med.jpg
  3. LilBit, unless I missed one! Honestly, I'm pretty sure only an AFJ can distribute the dick squeezer nick...
  4. Congrats, not everyone figures that out. But be careful, that can get into a road hypnosis type thing also. Just don't get dehydrated, that's too much.
  5. Hey, this time have the crew put our names or nicks on the tickets. They can just hollar and find us. Especially later this year when we wander even more.
  6. New data for Ohio is showing motorcycle crashes over the last five years run a high percentage of riders with alcohol in their system. Not drunk necessarily, but some had been drinking and under the limit. And on a bike that counts toward bad skill level, particularly at night. (How would I know that.) It's high, like around 50%. So by using absolutely invalid reverse logic statistics, not drinking cuts the odds in half of crashing. Ok, imaginary... but still...
  7. I get email alerts when the Alaskan GeoPhysical Institute detects high activity of Aurora displays from solar events. This is a fairly active five on a scale of zero to nine. Some will be visible from Ohio, or over Ohio, if lucky. Currently forecasted extreme for the next hour, but it's still daylight out. From this website: http://www.gi.alaska.edu/AuroraForecast edit: These don't happen very often. This is only the first or second alert sent for the Ohio area this year.
  8. race two results http://www.roadracingworld.com/news/article/?article=48047 Not bad, considering first effort and engine #1 wasn't willing.
  9. This is a somewhat important part, since initially data was sometimes retrieved without consent. Haven't heard of that being done lately. Oh, and motorcycles don't have a black box, yet. The most recorded is like warranty voids. Such as top speed obtained, but not when, who, or where.
  10. Official Harley rebuild in a crate is about 3200-3600. (plus remove and replace) I think I'd be proud if my engine went nearly 100,000 miles. http://www.harley-davidson.com/en_US/Content/Pages/Engines/remanufacturing.html
  11. http://www.mountguys.com/ Seperate motorcycle category, and includes some low cost alternatives. There's only about 100 different Nuvi, you'll have to look up the specific model to be sure. http://www.mountguys.com/category_s/91.htm
  12. I remember a heavy snow fall on an April 15th one year, but not one this late in the year. The NE over to Buffalo gets hit hard with lake effect. Snow in early May is possible in Ohio. Not that long ago, there was one year it snowed in seven months of the year.
  13. I laughed. Out loud even. oh, and good luck, stay cool, do the thing.

    Hit n run

It says the car hit the rider and not the bike? They were arguing/fighting. http://dailycall.com/main.asp?SectionID=5&SubSectionID=407&ArticleID=179397 http://www.whiotv.com/news/news/local/suspect-piqua-road-rage-case-arrested/nMd5N/
  15. lol.... no. But I have to look when I see the word stolen. I think I better stick to four, not eight. Get rid of one if I want another. I'm hoping we don't see a lot of stolen listed, that would mean another chop shop has set up locally.
  16. Oops, under state law, 3 OVI in Ohio in a 6 year time frame, and your vehicle can be taken. This one is up on ebay, or will be. I don't see it there yet though. 2009 Harley Davidson Softtail Heritage Motorcycle. Harley Davidson up for auction after Vermilion police seize it from OVI suspect
  17. If anyone cares, I just noticed that Kieth Code's book, The Science of Road Racing Motorcycles is making the rounds of download sites. Other reposts are showing up since it's getting warmer out: Performance Riding Techniques Images of War - Motorcycles at War Motorcycle Carburetor Manual Build Your Own Electric Motorcycle A Twist of the Wrist Vol2 I'm not really wanting to post links, but they are pretty easy to find in a Google search.
  18. Always looking... it's fun. Plus I think I should own 8 bikes... Just can't make up my mind yet.
  19. Cheapest Harley I could find on craigslist... $250 bucks, no engine, anyone want it? http://columbus.craigslist.org/mcy/2955104143.html Come'on, think of the fun with a GSXR or FireBlade engine in this...
  20. On craigslist 2012-04-20: http://columbus.craigslist.org/mcy/2969558391.html Stolen 2006 GSXR 1000
  21. Interesting... I don't particularly care for BoA anyway. I think I'll try to transfer two accounts away from them this weekend.
