  1. NAPA used to sell replacement side mirror glass. Don't know if they still do. Pretty easy to replace one once it's broken. They probably only have the common ones. wait, you said VFR... oops, NAPA won't have that.
  2. I like the Corys. I used to have dwarf cichlid breeding tanks and stuff. Did you know you can take a half dried out goldfish found on the floor, and put it back in the water and it will live? Done that... edit: oh and if the salt tank seems like too much, check out brackish tanks. Limited types of fish for them, but super easy to take care of.
  3. Only thing I've ever seen that worked on my ski masks was a rather hard pink wax stick that was scribbled on and buffed out. No clue where to find it, other than ski shops. But RayZor sells something similar in England. Cat crap also appears to be similar. Scuba divers use "Sea Gold", which I'm willing to try. Meant for plastic. Rain-X also has anti fog products, and one is easy to use wipes. But meant for glass. Also something I'm willing to try, it's cheaper and probably easier to find. I fog up every morning...
  4. Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for a while, leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never, ever the same. ~Flavia Weedn, Forever Fare thee well! and if for ever, Still for ever, fare thee well. ~Lord Byron
  5. Goodwill Industries or Salvation Army Tax deductible
  6. nope, faux means fake. I had to google the piece to find an article that talked about it and had a close up of the carbon. Sometimes it's really hard to tell the difference.
  7. sorry... faux carbon fiber finish equal to a Browning SuperSport though.
  8. 1937-1946 era Toward the end of production, materials were in short supply. I don't think it would have been unusual to find a short barrel, or a short stock, etc. some of the last models were probably dangerous to fire in the first place.
  9. Agreed, bad intersection. Airports and hospital areas are bad too. Somebody turned in front of me at the airport last week, and I gunned it and aimed right at them. But that's just me. Yes, I left a big get out on that.
  10. Can a woman make a sammich in a Burqa? Yes, but the sammich will have a little mask, so you can't see what's in it.
  11. Since the technology to do this didn't previously exist... I would expect the possibility of changes to the FAA rules to cover it. The example is when home built ultra lights started getting a bit bigger with modern small engines, the rules had to change. They weren't aircraft or ultralights. A category of Light Sport Aircraft was created to cover the new technology, with new limitations.
  12. Not clubs, but non-profit organizations. Tons of them. Search for "animal rescue ohio" http://www.pgaa.com/ohio.html
  13. There are launch sites that are supposed to be used. Scheduled in advance, I think. But launches to higher altitudes require special permission, I think. Hard to remember the rules... edit: Here's the FAA rules for free balloons. There are weight maximums and construction requirements to stay under. Launching through cloud cover below 60,000 feet with less than horizontal visibility of 5 miles was a no-no. It should have been a clear day (for 5 miles). But that rule and most of the others, don't apply if the device stays under the maximum limits of weight and construction. Excerpts from U.S. Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) Part 101 related to unmanned free balloons.
  14. I created 3 email for the SMS remote start/stop/single in gmail and saved them by sending. So just have to edit and forward to execute. Just messing around.
  15. HAha... instamapper loaded and ready to roll. What's the best interval of seconds between transmissions? I picked 120 = 2 minutes
  16. Tasty, I see turtle soup in his future.
  17. Wait! Don't throw out that old iPhone. Send it to outer space on a balloon. Film a movie of Earth from 100,000 feet up at the edge of space. CNET news article http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fXkoIBDXwd8&feature=player_embedded
  18. I'm sure the news was out about the virus attacking Iran. But this one isn't in the news. Somebody blew up the underground Iranian ICBM missile base. It's toast. This was most of the Shehab-3 medium-range missile launchers. Located in the Zagros mountains near the town of Khorramabad in the western Iranian province of Lorestan. http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=2f2_1287166016 http://www.globalsecurity.org/wmd/world/iran/khorramabad.htm Large aerial photo of base UGF = Under Ground Facility edit: the cyber war with Iran impresses me. It's a war that Iran can't fight, can't defend, and can't even figure out who's doing it. And I doubt if it was expensive, for it's effectiveness. edit: dang, I'm looking for it on satellite maps, and can't see it. I'm looking right at it, but it's camoflauged to the max. Here's somebody's pic that shows why it's so hard to see: Another large picture http://geimint.blogspot.com/2009/02/khorramabad-missile-silos.html
  19. Or you can go cheap and get this one from mountguys.com. $15.89 It says fits 3G, 3GS and 4. The ramball mounts are indeed better and more versatile in the long run. I use one of these cheapos for a cheap TomTom, right in the center of the bars I'll admit that it isn't the easiest thing to get setup right. Motorcycle / Bike Handlebar Mount for Apple iPhone Fits 3G 3GS 4 & Touch It fits 1 inch handlebars, so it will come with two strips of rubber to fit up on 7/8 inch metrics. It looks like there are some differences between mounts for iPhone, 3G, 3GS, 4G, CaseSkin, OtterBox, ToughCase, etc. Get the right one. Lots of mounts for iPhones on the website: iPhone iPhone 3G and 3GS iPhone 4 CaseSkin or OtterBox ToughCase
  20. Buy a cheap car new. You'll burn it out in just 2 or 3 years. Factor that into the cost. edit: 8 miles one way, and 9 miles back
  21. I met a car coming at me in my lane one night. I was driving a car, not a bike. It takes the brain some time to process the info. You're right, often too much time at the rate of closing. No chance to escape. I dodged sideways off the road. But I had to do so without looking behind me or in the other lane first. so yeah, it's best to already know where all the other vehicles are around, when moving quickly without looking. edit: closest call? I slid within inches of being under the back bumper of a VW bug one night, and got out of it with multiple power slides, to change course. (On a bike that really didn't have enough power to be doing that.) Yeah, I had to jump up on the sidewalk and take a break... I must have looked like a dirt track racer.
  22. A couple of years back I had access to the list of all the tunnel projects in the US. There was some pretty strange stuff on the list. It's no longer public info, but it was on the internet from DC for a long time. If you knew where to look for it. Dang, I'm going to look for it.
  23. 1997 CBR900RR hit-skip by gold Impala. Be on the lookout. Motorcyclist flown after hit-skip crash
  24. Next Gen 919... hmmmm edit: not really though, the 919 is a CBxxxF, this is a CBxxxxR
