Might be a decent thread to get some info on local ranges, deals, info, hookups, or even group shoots. I'm hitting LEPD at lunch for a quick break in on my new Ruger and to put a few rounds down range in 2 guns I bought used but never fired. Anyone been there, feelings, etc? I'm going to be there pretty early in the day, 11amish, and hope it's not busy since it's just a quick stop. The guy I worked with at Cabela's when I picked up my Ruger said he qualifies there twice a year and loves it. Turns out only 10.6 miles from my office and figure I can be there and back with 30 mins of shooting in just over an hour unless I start shopping, or jacking around. I've never shot at Ohio Valley Outdoors in Lancaster, but went in last Saturday to check out prices and ammo and no one was there. This was at 10:05am so they had just opened, but any other time that place has a full parking lot. Anyone shoot there, if so is it always as busy as it looks? I think they do like 12.95 for unlimited time unless people are waiting, is that right? I know there are private clubs out there, but trying to stay local as day trips are pretty limited with the little guy right now.

I watched the video today at the gym, over and over since it was on every news channel. I see no issues with what the police did, she was driving like a maniac, maybe she didn't "ram" one, but when they had surrounded the car due to her previous driving actions, she shouldn't flee, you stop, put the car in park, turn it off, and put your hands on the wheel awaiting instructions. That's what you do when you're surrounded in probably the heaviest patrolled area in the US. You don't try to flee, and chance hitting a police officer, pedestrian, or anything else. For all the police know, when she started fleeing, she may have had a dirty bomb, AIDS, or a WOMD in her car. Terrorist don't care if they have kids with them, they use them, they use their bodies, etc as bomb carriers. Granted it doesn't appear she is a terrorist, but they don't know that. And given the recent going ons(Oregon statey shot while a basic traffic stop, the Navy shipyard shooting, everything else nutso's do now adays), you can't chance things, or you end up with another story similar to the others. Maybe I just don't value human life enough to chance things, but no, I don't.

Ive always wondered about this too, mainly for local deliveries and dedicated routes. I wouldn't mind a direct to ORD or something similar, but would really like local routes, intermodal, drop, return. Reason being I live by the intermodel and figure it all kind of makes sense. Issue is my OVI is less than 5 years old which I believe is usually the cut off for a CDL if I read it correct? Anyone with knowledge help on that? Other thing is, I have no interest at all in buying or leasing a semi, so I wouldn't be owner/operator, just looking to drive. I know there are tons of jobs posted all over by me for this kind of work. Pay looks good, and some even claim home weekends? My uncle in law was an escort driver to TX every week and they left Sunday morning and were home by Thursday night, not really what I would want, but worked for him and his wife with no little kids. Think work got a tad slower for escorts though and driving is back in demand. I'd love to hear about anyone local who does this as a dedicated driver or maybe 1-2 days on the road at max, then home, etc.
