  5. I think this will be tough on his closer friends, so I thought I would write this up so they didn't have to go through the heart ache. It is with great sadness that I have to tell you guys that Ryan Hill (@rhill on here), and more affectionately known as RACEDAY to us who knew him on the track, has passed away. He had been having some issues with breathing in the past week or so, and last night was still well enough to drive himself to the hospital. They had found blood clots in his lung(s) and early this morning, he went into cardiac arrest and did not make it. I wasn't as close to him as some of the others, so I'll keep this short so they can pour their hearts out when they're ready. But I wanted you all to know that Ryan's friends and family, the track days/racing community, and moto community in general lost a great person and asset and friend today. godspeed to you Ryan. You lived well, you gave of yourself, and you were loved and will always be loved. Godspeed. Latest update from Ryan's family: Funeral for Ryan Friends will be recieved Monday and Tuesday. Monday evening 4pm to 8pm Additional viewing Tues 9am to 11am with service to immediately follow in the Leftdahl Chapel. 6. my current #2 name for my son is "nacho". Although, I think "winter" would also be an excellent name, so I'll throw that to the top of the list pile. "Winter is coming" would work for SOOOOO many things, even later in life.
  7. open up a cheap per trade account and buy a few shares of one of vanguard's etf's. if it has dividends, set it so it continues to re-invest into the fund it came from. better than nothing?
  8. everyone has to make their own choice in considering "acceptable risk". Consult your OB. Other than the obvious hazard of trauma from a crash and fall/impact, there's a lot of high frequency vibration right on the taint train with a stop at the baby cave and connecting jiblets. Do I know of any dangers of shaking the womb around with a babby inside? I dunno. I mean, docs say whatever physical activity you did pre-preggasaurus is supposedly fine post-parasite latching, so I don't see why it would matter but I'm no doctor. So, in short, do what you want as long as you're willing to accept the risk and are well informed of said risks.
  9. i think as long as you can find some ebay plastics that fit ok and stand up to crashes ok, that is a great idea. get the sets with dzus-type (quick on-off) fasteners if you can. and if possible, one with a closed belly pan for when you get to intermediate/advanced since some orgs might need a belly pan capable of retaining fluids. anybody in your shoes (dipping your toes into track days) should consider going your route.
  10. You work hard and you play hard, I always liked that about you. For someone who worked so hard and sacrified so much to get where you are, a little reward like this shouldn't even cause a blip in your conscience radar, but that's what you get for being a good decent human being who was raised right. Congrats on the toy. I highly recommend that you buy a pre-prepped track bike, but that all depends how much track activity you'll be seeing. they're much easier to fix when crashed (track plastics are relatively easy to repair and MUCH cheaper to replace, and the bodywork comes off much more quickly. If you're only doing 1 or 2 max a year, then it's probably not worth it. But if you're going full addict, then it's worth every penny. have fun!
  11. kidnap large adult male of whatever flavor you like the most, restrain, blindfold, apply high dosage of PCP, release into large wooded area, tell him he has 5 minutes to run for his life and release. equip assault rifle, shotgun, pistol, and large knife/machete. night vision goggles optional. then go to chi chi's and enjoy a fried ice cream, Olé!
  12. Yeah, that whole series (Faster, Fastest, FASTESTERERER) is pretty much for Moto GP watchers. It has a lot of excellent slow motion racing footage and highlights from the season too. but also the soothing sounds of brad pitt's extremely unrehearsed and off timed attempts at commentary on slow motion racing footage. could have done without that. good for trailer bating material though. i follow motogp, so it was a good watch for me. i could see how it would be not so great for a filthy casual though on the other hand, if you play tennis but don't watch tennis, the various tennis highlight videos on youtube is faaaaantastic.

You know, that character really suits you. lol Owl is considered by most to be the smartest resident of the Hundred Acre Wood. He is known for talking about his many relatives, and tends to tell long, drawn out stories, often involving his various relatives, which bore the others. Though Owl is indeed an intellectual, his intelligence is somewhat questionable, as well is his ability to read, as twice he misread messages from Christopher Robin and believed the boy was in danger, causing unnecessary worry in Pooh and friends, and sometimes even almost getting them killed. In the 2011 incarnation onwards, Owl is portrayed as an egotistical, pretentious, and obsessive character. He's often heard making comments along the lines of "I'm far too important...", and views himself above the rest of the Hundred Acre Woods gang. Even so, he's still well-meaning, and does his best to use whatever intelligence he holds for the happiness of his friends. Even so, like the others, he lacks common sense and above average intelligence, as seen when he misread Christopher Robin's letter, and again when it's revealed he was responsible for the disappearance of Eeyore's tail, believing it was a bell-ringer.
