  1. Ah yes, the "libtard" approach. I make a effort not to read them, but in the absence of a group that takes them off the main page (like Politics), there reached a point after seeing them day after day that I feel the need to chime in. You know, free speech and all that.
  2. We all store food, I bet I could get a few days out of what's in my pantry alone. I never said it was weird, I'm making an observation that this discussion is already starting to turn where every other one has on here, to yet another discussion about guns. You know I loves me some guns, but how many times can this be beat to death?
  3. Because it's a non-event. You're hypothesizing about a complete and utter breakdown of society and social order. I can point to a MOUNTAIN of past events that points to one conclusion: If there's a event that's so catastrophic that normal people are left to survive for themselves without the creature comforts, society tends to adapt, coalesce, and overcome. I'm not naive to think that the security that guns provide isn't necessary, but there's a point of diminishing returns that passed some of you guys a LOOONG time ago.
  4. Make your own solar panels? I see this is following the pattern for all the other daily ZOMGBUGOUTSHTFWTFBBQ!!!! threads. Start off innocently enough talking about survival techniques, and end with a dick waving discussion about the type of gun to bring or how you can pick off a mosquito in Louisiana from the top of the Empire State Building with your AR15 with 2000 pounds of tactical gear bolted on it, and since it works in video games how you'd carry 5000 rounds of ammo, a chainsaw, rocket launcher with 100 rockets, shotgun with 300 rounds, medkit, berserker kit, and quad damage while traveling with the greatest of ease. Can we have a SHTF subforum already so this shit stays off the front page?
  5. OK. I think we've dived so deep in the details of the issue that we've lost focus of the question that started it all, so just to clarify I'll ask it. Do you approve or disapprove of the 9th's reversal of the gay marriage ban in California? If you wrote down in detail all the precedents we had as a nation into the Constitution, the damn thing would be a book. I'll give you a few that aren't found in the Constitution: Innocent Until Proven Guilty Judicial Review "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness" Any definition or even MENTION of "marriage" Right to Travel "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal" Immigration And just to fuel the fire a little bit, something else you won't find in the Constitution: Any mention of God, Creator, Jesus, any of that. I wonder why that is...
  6. fuck that man, that's shit's the Glaive from Krull! I can rescue MAD bitches with that.
  7. You're fucking kidding me, right? "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof" US Constitution, 1st Amendment. Separation of Church and State upheld: Treaty of Tripoli, 1797 - John Adams: As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion; as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquility, of Mussulmen; and, as the said States never entered into any war, or act of hostility against any Mahometan nation, it is declared by the parties, that no pretext arising from religious opinions, shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries. Everson v. Board of Education, 1947 Seriously man, 5 minutes of research.
  8. This is where your argument falls apart. The government does give special benefits to married people. Tax status, next-of-kin status, everything that's already been mentioned in this thread. Why, IN THE EYES OF THE STATE ONLY, is it permissible to give these benefits or allow that simple contract to be created between a man and a woman and deny it to a same-sex couple? THAT is the question being asked here, and one that no one is willing to answer without invoking religion, because there IS no answer without invoking religion.
  9. Says the man who I believe is still having an extended nerdgasm over his 70 inch TV.
  10. I find it really telling that the more vocal anti-gay conservatives on here aren't chiming in. I said it before on the "social conservative" thread, you guys are on the wrong side of history on this one.
  11. I'll get in on this too. I imagine there's going to be hordes of gullible people that are going to want to scarf up anything with "Survival", "Apocolypse", or "Zombie Defense" in their name. I'll rebrand the hell out of these and sell them for triple what I paid.
  12. And those secular benefits and responsibilities are at the heart of this issue. Religion can do whatever they want, however they can't foist their beliefs on the business of the state, which is exactly what happened.
  13. I eagerly await the social conservative derp-storm to follow. 30 years from now this is going to read exactly like the Civil Rights demonstrations of the 60's.
  14. Also, what cams do you have mounted? I'm curious to know what you're running.
  15. You had me all the way up to this. If someone intentionally attempts to destroy or disable your personal property (moreso when it's entrusted to their care), that's a criminal offense right there. You're a good man for making sure they didn't completely get the axe for the spirited driving, but when they actively start hacking stuff that's when, IMO, the foot needs to come down.
  16. When you say you "cut the factory wire", did you cut the wire behind the connector (going to the fuse block) or in front of the connector (going to the old light, allowing you to re-use the connector)? There's no guarantee that the polarity on the wires is the same as what the LED's would use, I learned that the hard way with the LED bulbs I tried to put on my Katana. Incandescent bulbs don't care about polarity, LED's most certainly do. This is what you need to do. First, establish a baseline. Take the pos/neg wires from the LED and touch them to the battery. Take an amp reading from your multimeter (you do have one, right?). This is the actual amp draw from the lights, set fuse accordingly (as in, less than 10A). Find pos/neg wires for the wiring harness going out to the lights, label accordingly. DO NOT RELY ON PREVIOUS BULB SOCKET WIRING. Touch LED wires to correct polarity wires on wiring harness. Record voltage and amp draw. If you blow fuse, check connections. I'm going to assume you did the smart thing and chopped the cables behind the factory connector, in that case you should separate the connector and clean it out as much as possible.
  17. then buy my bike as a replacement.
  18. As was said before, you have a short. Find it and fix it. All the below options should not even be considered: Increasing the fuse (you'll blow that too, or fry your wiring, whichever comes first) Wiring direct to the battery (not only are you not fixing the initial problem, but I guarantee you're going to forget and drain the battery, not to mention making a complete mess of the wiring in an already cramped space)
  19. OSHP are doing DUI checkpoints around Wood County this weekend, and they aren't allowing test refusals. They're getting blood-draw warrants for everyone that refuses. http://www.toledoblade.com/Police-Fire/2012/02/02/Refusing-DUI-test-not-option.html Stay safe out there, and understand your rights in this situation.
  20. You guys seen that $1.85 I dropped on the highway?
  21. I think the most versatile word in the English language is Buffalo. This is a perfectly valid sentence: Buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo. THE buffalo FROM Buffalo WHO ARE buffaloED BY buffalo FROM Buffalo, buffalo (verb) OTHER buffalo FROM Buffalo.
  22. Buy a 2003 600RR, I'd sell this out for 3K... http://www.ohioriders.net/showthread.php?t=87667 Turnkey solution for someone who's getting back into the bike world, stands, second set of plastics, the whole bit.
  23. My girlfriend works at Franklin County Children's Services, so I get all the really good ones. Lots of "King" or "Princess" as first names, one of my favorites was A'Miracle (girl), Sir (first name, boy), the normal car/bling names like Porsche, Mercedes, so on.
