  1. I am thinking about adding TC to the VFR1200. I already installed the Bazzaz Z Bomb that circumvents the stupid 1st and 2nd gear throttle nanny so now it runs the (full power) 3rd gear map for 1st and 2nd.
  2. Ask the school how it will be used.
  3. Could be an interesting project. Fold up would be cool for someone with an RV.
  4. I'm betting we'll eventually see EBR technology in less expensive motorcycles, but they may be Hero's. Google the Hero Hastur, it's very lightweight.
  5. At one point, there were some in HD mgmt had a genuine interest is using Buell to expand into other markets and to bring younger buyers into show rooms. Buell had a dirtbike that was 99% production ready at the time of closure. However, there were plenty within HD that wanted nothing more than to cleanse the chrome genepool of sportbike contaminants. Some of their decsions could only be called childish. It was never a great fit. I wish EBR the best of luck, but they have yet to prove to me that their models represent a sustainable business model.
  6. The real reason that Erik wasn't a fan of the Blast isn't listed in that article. Buell had no choice but to purchase the motor from HD. When your company is owned by the supplier, you get very little say in the matter. After the the Blast had the green light for production and all the parts and processes had been costed, HD roughly tripled the price of the 492cc single that they were supplying. I don't recall the exact numbers but it jumped from $7-800 to around $2k. Again, as a subsidiary you get very little say in the matter. Now, Blast MSRP was only around $4,400 and dealer got them for less than that. So, $2k for the motor meant that every Blast was sold at a loss for Buell, but HD was making $$ on every Blast due to the inflated markup on the motor. It made it appear that Buell was poorly manged financially. I understand that such grab ass-ery was common in HD's dealings with Buell.
  7. I've never really thought about oning a Busa, but for awhile I was seriously considering a Suzuki B King. Same motor, more comfortable & still stupid fast. They do well for carving back roads & sport touring.
  8. Is there a way to grill on the boat? Grilling freshly caught fish while you're still on the boat would be pretty fantastic. Assuming someone in your group knows how to filet them.
  9. Bring a cooler and lots of beer. There is absolutely no excuse for fishing sober.
  10. It's actually just like changing the wheel on a car. Remove the 5 lug nuts and it comes right off. It's much simpler than a wheel change on a normal swingarm.
  11. You just bashed the whole concept behind the Screaming Eagle Catalog
  12. ^^ Speaking of the Concours14, I wonder why Suzuki hasn't made an ST with a version of the Hayabusa motor. Seems like a natural fit.
  13. For my next motorcycle for sale add, I'm going to block out the entire picture of the motorcycle. I don't want internet theives knowing what kid of motorcycle I ride
  14. The B-Last racing series?
  15. Ok, couldn't I just drive by any house in the world to see a car in a driveway and know where they live?
  16. If I was trying to get license plate numbers wouldn't it be much easier to go to any parking lot in the world?
  17. What about one of these? Curiosity got the better of me and I bought a VFR1200. It's better in the corners than you would think. Not quite the straight line speed of a Busa, but it does have 145 rwhp http://ohioriders.net/index.php?/topic/105506-bought-a-new-bike/
  18. Yes. That is an incredible stretch of road. 250 from Moundsville to Hundred is currently craptacular. I haven't been on any other parts of 250 yet this season.
  19. I would imagine that the porch that looks like a russian dumpster is built the highest of standards. What could go wrong.
  20. I sat on a CBR650 in a showroom. I could live with one.
  21. Laser Lites work great for me. I got a box of 500 pairs for about $12 on eBay.

    Riders Down

OK, I said I wouldn't analyze the video, but since you brought it up I agree with what you are saying here. If you were riding the outside line (hugging the double yellow) until the apex of the decreasing radius you may have had a better angle to get through it ok. You wouldn't have needed to turn as sharply when you got to the gravel, so you wouldn't need as much traction to get through it. But, if you don't know the road how can you know it's a decreasing radius turn until you see it? I will say from the video I can't tell exactly where the gravel is, so I could be completely wrong. Hindsight, armchair quarterback, internet-know-it-all, etc...On a unfamiliar road, you pretty much have to treat all blind corners as decreasing radius turns. Stay as far outside as possible (outside of the turn not outside of the lane), and look as far through the turn as possible until you have a line of sight. Derek, If I were you, I'd head right back to that same corner when you're back on 2 wheels
