  1. I should've mentioned that I am left handed so if that makes any difference. I know a few I've shot over the years seemed like a pain in the ass being left handed since the controls were on the other side.

The M&P's have a slide release on both sides and the mag release can be switched for lefties.

  2. I carry an M&P .45c daily. It fits my hand really well, includes 3 different backstraps for different hand sizes. I read it is left as an open design, meaning the slide doesn't fit tight, to allow debris to fall out of the gun. The recoil is low so even at rapid fire all rounds will end up very tightly grouped. I love mine.

I have never shot a XD but the grip seemed too square and was uncomfortable to hold. Too much like a Glock.

  3. The White House says US president Barack Obama will not be declaring "mission accomplished" when he delivers a speech about Iraq tomorrow (Australian time).

The president's Oval Office address is timed to coincide with the official end of US combat operations in Iraq after more than seven years.

But the US is leaving about 50,000 troops in Iraq to advise and train Iraqi forces.

onsider that from Jan. 20, 2001, to Jan. 20, 2009, the debt held by the public grew $3 trillion under Mr. Bush—to $6.3 trillion from $3.3 trillion at a time when the national economy grew as well.

By comparison, from the day Mr. Obama took office last year to the end of the current fiscal year, according to the Office of Management and Budget, the debt held by the public will grow by $3.3 trillion. In 20 months, Mr. Obama will add as much debt as Mr. Bush ran up in eight years.

Mr. Bush's deficits ran an average of 3.2% of GDP, slightly above the post World War II average of 2.7%. Mr. Obama's plan calls for deficits that will average 4.2% over the next decade.

Obama has been on history's biggest spending spree, which has included a $787 billion stimulus, a $30 billion expansion of a child health-care program, and a $410 billion federal spending bill that increased nondefense discretionary spending 10% for the last half of fiscal year 2009. Mr. Obama also hiked nondefense discretionary spending another 12% for fiscal year 2010.

Mr. Bush did sign the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) into law and loaned $240 billion to banks. But those loans are being returned at a profit to the Treasury. Rather than using those funds to pay down the deficit, Mr. Obama wants to use them for new spending. What's more, he has lavished some $320 billion from TARP on car companies, union allies, and pet causes that will never be fully returned.
  6. Spc. James C. Robinson, 27, of Lebanon, Ohio, died Aug. 28 at Paktika, Afghanistan, when insurgents attacked his unit with indirect fire. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky.

Spc. Robinson is the son of Ohio Patriot Guard District 7 member, Jim Robinson.

  7. IT is sad that this happened, but like everyone has said, the kids know the risks. The parents know the risks too. Even the woman said it is the parent's choice to let the kid ride or not.

Now as to the comments people had about Fox News, what am I missing? The news guys even said the kids can die snow boarding or skiing. They remained neutral if not leaning towards the kids right to do what he wanted. They brought in an outside person with an opposing view as their own, to have a discussion. But since it was Fox who reported it, they must be at wrong?

  8. So, what happens when someone pulls in front of her and the bike flips end over end? She flies off, and the bike crushes her kid. Unbelievable.

He hits the ejection button and little rockets shoot his seat up into the air, to safety. Obviously.
