  1. What brand did you get? I used to do them all the time, but I got tired of the cheap ones that we were using that would quit working, and some were DOA out of the box! I did the one in my own car, but it's a very expensive security system, with remote starter built in. If nobody else chimes in, I'm willing to tackle it, as long as you realize that you'll need a few other things, such as a transponder bypass module, and a spare key for that. You may be looking at $200 more for the stuff you'll need.
  2. My wife says that the gun is one thing she won't follow me on. She got her motorcycle endorsement when I did, and we do quite a few things together, but she has nearly ZERO interest in even handling the gun. I will try to encourage her to at least learn, even if she doesn't want to carry, or even plink at some targets, she should know how to safely handle a gun, with there being one in the house.
  3. Oh, if YOU're going along, I'm not going to go. I'm excited!
  4. Reminds me of that scene in Bruce Almighty! Seriously though, I hope she gets this checked out, since it could be something very serious! Maybe it's just stress related? Stress can do some weird things to the body.
  5. You should know that all the good stuff shows up here first!
  6. Repost. Probably bout the 10th time even.
  7. It actually fits better than I thought. I worked with it a little bit and I think it will be fine. I'll show you tomorrow. I think being tight on the trigger guard will be fine, if not a good thing, anyway. Otherwise it fits pretty nice, I think. Drawing seems to be easy enough.
  8. I was backing up what you said about me as being correct. Geesh. And who cares how many posts you have? I was already planning to bring it all tomorrow! I was looking it over, analyzing how it all works earlier tonight. The magazine springs are pretty stiff! I hope they "break in" a little bit!
  9. Nano Vault. I have the gun in there, with the cable lock through it for now, and the ammo in another part of the house, until I get more comfortable with it, put some rounds through it, and get the kids educated. I was a bit disappointed with the nanovault at first, since the lid didn't lock down tight. I had time to investigate tonight, and I found that the little metal catch on the end of the lock cylinder wasn't tight. Now it closes down nicely. Ya know, I haven't fired it yet. I'll get back to you tomorrow.
  10. I picked up a Uncle Mike's IWB holster for my XD from Gander. Got it home to find that the trigger guard doesn't clear. I'm going to look at it some more later and decide for sure, but I think it's going back. Maybe just going back to get the one that will fit right.
  11. That's why I doubt that I'm going to ride any today. Don't you have some customers to go bother there Blue Shirt? I've seen enough BB Blue Shirts over the past couple days to last me a long time. I've been in 3 or 4 BB stores, one of them twice! ugh...
  12. The indicator is probably lighted through a different circuit. I'll pull the diagrams later this morning. We're getting ready to head out the door to take the kid to an appointment at Children's.
  13. From what I remember reading over the on xdtalk, if you buy the "kit" (I forget who makes it) the FTE problems go away. I opted to get the XD .40 SC. The XDM .40 SC was over $200 more right now, since what I got is on sale. The XDM 9 SC was on sale, $110 more than the XD 9 SC, which I would have done, but since the XDM .40 SC wasn't even on the shelves when the last ad came out, it wasn't on sale.
  14. I went to Buckeye Outdoors and picked up a XD .40 sub compact. This is my first gun. I plan to take the class to get my CHL, soon. I need to get some range time, and handling under my belt ASAP! So far, all I've done is a field strip, and cleaned it. I may put a few rounds through it tomorrow. I also bought a Uncle Mike's IWB holster, but I think I'm gonna need a different size. I got the 12, which is supposed to be for the common sub compact models, or something like that.
  15. I'll look at a diagram tomorrow and see what it could be. Just off the top of my head, the headlight switch is usually a likely candidate, but I'll have to look over the system. Edit: Make that later today, actually.
  16. Just a tiny bit more powerful. You know, enough to power a FAN!!! I busted out laughing at that one!
  17. Enter your trip as a walking trip?
  18. Guns are bad, mmmmkay. They shoot people. Seriously though, I was up near there earlier today, and contemplated stopping in where she works, but we went to the Aquarium store instead.
  19. They'd figure it out right away. Not from the smell of alcohol on your breath, but from the way you would act!
  20. You'll see/hear me ride in to work and get the itch to go get it out of storage.
  21. You can ride where ever you want... As long as you don't do something stupid and get pulled over! When I was riding on my temps, I stayed away from those types of areas most of the time, but I did ride in a fairly congested area for one of my first rides that was more than just around the block, or the few miles into town.
