    Windows 10

Wife's old POS laptop got it, my fairly up to date desktop didn't, still waiting for it to download. I actually downloaded the .iso from the program that was posted above, but when I went to find it, it was gone! Searching turned up nothing. I started the download again, to the same, easy to find, location as last time. We'll see when I get home. I'll probably put it on her laptop (that has been sitting unused for months anyway) and see how I like it, first.

So, you can just use your Windows 7 key and clean install it?

    Windows 10

There are other "tinfoil hat" issues with Windows 10. I'll have to find exactly what they were reported to be and post them up. I've looked high and low and could not find any other way to do it. If you have a legit install of Windows 7 or 8, and it's not Enterprise version, as long as all updates have been installed, you SHOULD get the notification. There are some unknown (to me) reasons that it may not run even if everything (appears to me) is in order. My desktop and laptop neither one wanted to run it until I did some stuff that I found online to remedy the issue. My wife's laptop ran it on it's own, after I fixed Windows Update so that it WOULD update! My laptop will not install it because of the video driver. It's the Ati x1200, and has no Windows 10 compatibility. Who knows if it ever will! Ugh...
  4. I have tried both ways, stacked and flat, with no noticeable difference. BTW... Sam's Club is where I usually get my meat for the smoker. Pork shoulders, ribs, and brisket. The price is usually pretty good, and the quality has always been good.
  5. At work, yes. At home, or personal stuff at work, it's Chrome, 95% of the time. As 2talltim says, there are a few websites that just work better with IE, and a few that just don't work with Chrome. Sprint's website is not Chrome friendly when they first make changes to it. After a short time it's usually all good, though.
  6. I don't think GM cares. Actually, it's HP. HP does the software for the diag and reprogramming.
  7. And the stuff that we run at work for programming vehicle computers, and diagnosing vehicles runs on Java. And of course it will almost never run on the latest version. This keeps things VERY secure... I'm not sure how I feel about this. Does that mean we're going to have the latest IE shoved down the pipe, even if some of the stuff we use will not work with it anymore? We're stuck with holding back to IE9 for work, still.
  8. I have the same smoker, and NO! I'm not going to part it out! LOL I was actually thinking the same thing, that it would be nice to have a couple more racks in there. The only time I find myself needing more racks is when doing ribs, but I have learned that you can fit quite a few in there by laying them. I do 6 racks at a time. Cut them in half, get them rubbed and ready, put the first one flat on the rack, then put three more on that one, "leaning" them on the first. Four half racks per rack in the smoker makes a LOT of ribs! Also check out the "Official" OR BBQ thread: http://ohioriders.net/index.php?/topic/92554-anyone-here-make-bbq/
  9. From what I remember, they just slide out. I believe they have a Dana diff in them?
  10. Does it seem to get worse as the operating temperature increase? I believe it's a locked stator that will cause a similar condition. There should be a plug, or plate that you can remove to look in at the torque converter. Take a look, and if it looks like it's been HOT (usually blued) then you've found it. If not, keep looking.
  11. ICM is unlikely. It's ususlly good or bad, rarely in between. It's pretty much just a dumb switch after the engine gets running, doing whatever the ECM tells it. Typically, if it has problem, spark would be weak and causing a misfire. I'm not ruling it out 100%, but I have serious doubts about it.
  12. Yeah, once you let the computer take back over, it will move around. 19 is pretty good, I wouldn't suspect anything mechanical, since you say that it doesn't seem to misfire. I'll have to see if I can dig up some info on it, I'm limited in that area here at home. It still sounds like fuel supply or air flow (in or out) to me. If only you were closer!
  13. Propane? I just use carb cleaner, or brake cleaner these days, as long as I know the plug wires are in good condition, and out of the way of where I'll be spraying. I suppose a weak coil wire COULD cause it.
  14. Not a Ford nut by any stretch, but I have quite a bit of experience with working on them! What's the fuel pressure under load? That is MUCH more important than the static pressure at key on, and idle. Tape the gauge to the windshield, take it down the road and floor it. The pressure should be pretty close to the key on engine off spec, since this would be a low manifold vacuum situation. Fuel volume is important as well, but MOST of the time, if it's able to maintain pressure under a load, it has enough volume. EGR should probably be commanded open pretty far at that point anyway, so that's not very likely the problem. Is it misfiring when this happens? Also, even though the catalytic converter is gone, the muffler can have stuff come loose and cause a restriction. I'll keep this one in the back of my mind, and if I think of anything else, I'll post it.
  15. Wow! I can't believe my ADD let me get through all of that, but it was HILARIOUS!
  16. This is why I take my cars to the dealership for service!
  17. Liquid! (Lactose intolerant.)
  18. See what I've started...
  19. You know the deal, just messing with you! I should have gone into aviation. I love mechanical and electronic stuff, and I've always had an interest in aviation. I actually had to go check to see if you are even still on Facebook, RR!
  20. Says her Facebook stalker...
  21. General Motors completely skipped Windows 8 for compatibility with it's software and hardware. This all puts me in mind of "ME", and Vista. The info that I'm getting from one of the developers is that GM is in testing with 10, it looks like they're going to go with it. I'm curious about the "catches" that my come with the free upgrade. The no going back doesn't bother me, but compatibility with older hardware does.
