I suppose it would be dependent on the gun. Many modern pistols have polymer frames and I would think that the melting of the frame would be the problem more than the cartridges in the magazine.

I may be able to take a look at my bike for reference tomorrow evening.

Ugh... I was hoping this would pass. Not that I travel much to have a big worry about it, but it's just "right" in my opinion.

I know someone else that had this happen to them, and they've been riding the street for YEARS, and rides OFTEN. I had a few times on the old Hon-duh that I had where I had left the stand down, but I got warned by other riders, or the rubber piece on the stand hit while I was going slow and reminded me to put it up. Thankfully.

Again, I would take out the filter until you know you're getting enough fuel into the float bowls, that way you're sure it's not holding you up! I had that problem on the Hon-duh that I used to have!

This is my running Ninja 250, petcock, fuel line to carbs, and vacuum line.

The line from the front of the petcock, the one in the pic that goes to the fuel filter, which I would remove for now, is the fuel out to the carbs. The other line goes to the vacuum source, which is what appears to be where the filter is connected. I just went out to check this on my running Ninja 250. The original line that supplies the carbs goes to the front, larger fitting on the petcock, and it goes straight back to the inlet of the carbs. I'll see if I can grab a pic in a minute, after dealing with a cranky 4 year old...

You change your oil? I didn't think people did that anymore. As has already been mentioned, many (most?) auto shops heat with waste oil and will gladly take it. It is expensive to buy used oil to burn in the waste oil burner, especially when considering that if you end up with too much over the summer you have to pay the same company to come and pick it up! I have heard that you can dispose of coolant into the sewer system. I would imagine that would only apply to a couple gallons at a time, though, not the volume that a shop would be disposing of. At the dealership where I work, we dump it into a tank and have it pumped out a couple times a year. The last shop I worked for we just left it pour into the drain, and that was in the big city. If it was a problem, I'm sure we would have know about it pretty fast!

I haven't had an inkjet printer in a long time. Is the ink cartridge dying up still an issue? I really like my Samsung color laser that I've had for about 3 years. I don't print much at all and it always works. I DID spend more on refill toner than I paid for the printer, but it should last me a LONG time!

When you put it back together, make sure you put some teflon thread sealer on the screw threads to help seal it up! I hope to get started on cleaning the carbs on my 250 this week some time, then I need to pick up a couple tires for it, change the oil, and a general check over to be ready for the year!

They used too long of a bolt, and when it got hard to tighten, they kept going until it went through.
