  1. ^^haha. Gotta go pick up my grill tomorrow.

Good ride today folks. Sorry about getting us lost in Apple Valley hell, and kicking squirrel remains up off the road.

Hope everyone made it home ok. The downpour was fun to ride through.

I missed the rain on my way home, with the exception of a few drops here and there. Almost got blown off the bike by the wind from a tanker truck though!

The Apple Valley "detour" was kinda fun, and Kawi's "driveway incident" made for good conversation over ice cream!

  2. Cool! Sunoco, around 8:20. I'll prolly be on the Interceptor, can't miss it, red white and blue, and it's 24 years old!

It's looking like I'll be on the dark blue Ninja 250 (with and Ohio-Riders sticker) instead. I don't have much confidence in the interceptor yet, I need to figure out what the ticking noise is before I ride it much more!

  3. my husband has both our bikes covered thru progressive. They seem reasonable.

Yeah, $95 a year per bike, for both of us. The fuckers only gave us a $1 discount for taking the MSF BRC course. I'm not happy about that one, so we may be switching in the spring when this policy is up.

  4. Very cool!

I was honestly expecting a pass at some point, just to show up the lowly 250.

Actually, the jacket's a Shift mesh. Pretty decent, but I wish I got an Icon or Alpinestars lookin' back. Got Icon gloves and boots, though.

If it makes you feel any better, my cell phone was in my pocket, and is now drying out. Oops.

I was breaking in my new Pirelli Sport Demons. So far, so good.

To distract from the :supergay: in this thread....

I didn't know they made Sport Demons that fit the 250...

  5. was out there on bikes with some friends last sat got dared to wheelie thru my plate is tucked under the seat so it cant be seen so i wheelied thru the one closest to hinder honda at about 55 or 60 and got the strobes flashing we're waitin for a pic in the paper or something or a web site for the unidentified :)

I'd love to see the looks on their faces when they saw the pics from that one!

  6. So far, an early bird group will probably meet and depart from Iron Pony at 8am or a little after. Early birds are attempting to eat all the pancakes before anyone else can get there. I haven't heard of anyone else's time schedules. I'm guessing four to eight early birds. I'm wondering when Ben/Carie want to depart.

I like early starts, if for no other reason, just to see who is capable of an early morning start. Besides, the cruisers need the extra time to get there. ha.

Since they group will be heading through Johnstown (unless you take some back roads to get there) Do you guys mind stopping IN Johnstown, or at least slowing so I can ride along?

  7. WOOT for passing! :)

I'm looking for something no more than $3,000.. well, maybe a little more depending on the bike. I know everyone's gotta make a profit, so it's totally understandable that I'm having difficulty finding one for a lower price. At the moment, I'm still saving up (just dropped too much $$ on a new apartment, and vacation stuff) so once I have all the cold hard cash to offer, I'll let ya'll know ;)

Thanks! It was actually a bit fun! WOuld have been better if it had been cooler Sunday! I actually liked the fact that Sat was somewhat crappy, kept it cool and all!

You might look when bad weather hits, or right before spring hits, on craigslist, if you can wait that long! I got our Ninja 250 pretty cheap back in April. When you're ready, ask around here, and I'm sure SOMEONE will know of exactly what you're looking for.

  8. Don't you just love working of V4 carbs, they can be a pain in the ass to get in and out though if you don't have new boots.

Not such a big deal, now that I've been through it a couple times to put springs back in the linkage that had fallen out from putting them in wrong!

The bike is now running! The carbs still need adjusted, and synced. I drove it home and back to work (1.8 miles each way) and I'm pretty happy, thus far! I now need to go over the bike and make sure everything is tight (I've found a few things that weren't!) I also had to fix the brake lights, the rear switch was just unhooked (mechanically) and the front switch is bad, and I have a replacement on it's way. Oh yeah, I still have some more straightening to do on the side stand that got bent on the trailer ride home!

  9. Nice! Hope it all went well! I, too, now have more appreciation for the sport bike. I'm keeping my eyes peeled for a 250 to learn on :)

I all went really well! Everyone in the class passed, first time!

I watch craigslist for a couple months looking for another 250 for the wife, or a project bike for myself. I saw quite a few 250 ninja's for less than $2000, but it was always when we were short on money, and they were gone by the time we could spring for them! I ended up with my Interceptor 500, and she gets the Ninja.

  10. Welcome!

I also started out on a NInja 250 this year! I started in April, bike had 2374 miles on it, and I turned over 5000 on the way to the BRC today! The 3 of us from here that were there together (and the rest of the class) passed the first time through. If you're not getting into the BRC yet this year, it might do you well to do so early on next season, after the winter. Then, you could get into the Experienced Rider Course at the end of the year! I'm thinking about the ERC next year, myself! There's also the BRC2, that might be more appropriate for you.
