  1. I feel i did good, coulda been better but i'm happy with my outcome!

You did fine! NOBODY had to redo any of the test!

You are one of the riders that made quite a bit of progress! Now, if that shifter wouldn't have given you so much trouble.... No GZ250 for you! You can stick with the Ninja, or if there's something else later that we try out and you like. We just need to make sure you're ok with the shifter! Also, I think practice will make youy better with ANY shifter!

  2. GO ahead, brag about your "perfect" score...

I didn't care about what my score was, as much as what I missed that point on. I have no idea why my braking wasn't as good for that one run!

I also found it a bit slow since I had been riding for a few months, but on the flip side, I think a few of the riders could have used a bit more practice. It was neat to watch people that had never been on a bike before, or had very little experience progress throughout the course!

I was SO glad to get back on the Ninja when it was over, that nighthawk was NOT the bike for me! I shoulda grabbed one of the motards...

  3. the rebel is what i rode in the MSF course... I wasn't a huge fan of it either :(

I ended up on a Nighthawk today, which I understand is about the same, they look close to the same, other than the controls being a bit forward on the Rebel. I have a new appreciation for the little Ninja 250! One more day of the MSF class to go (tomorrow.)

  4. No this is the last one, after this weekend President Obama has declared that Coshocton will be leveled out and repaved with all straight roads so that everyone can be equally fast in a straight line so that no biker can show off his cornering skills. This is the beggining of a much larger effort to promote equallity in recreational motor sports; other areas scheduled for "staightening" include Rattlesnake Pass, Deals Gap, All of West Virginia, and many more.

Oh no's! I should've known that he'd ruin all the fun for all of us. Is this part of the Stimulus Package #2?

  5. More TwittOR. :nono:

Glad you like it. I will seriously post the memory foam mod how-to one day for the rest of the folk. I like doing projects, but finding time to write about them is hard.

I would like to try a sportbike to see how it works, if there are any takers. Will cost you about $15(as long it works  ).

I might be interested in this, if I can get an extra seat. I need to get this one recovered anyway, so this and a new cover would be sweet!

  6. while your at it make that petcock a gravity feed instead of vacum.. the 500 is notorious for the vacum diaphram to shit out and leave you stranded

    here is a how to

    http://www.daughertymotorsports.com/howto/tankvalve/tankvalve.html

Thanks for the tip! It IS working right now, but I'll read into it a bit, and since it's common, prolly fix it now, before it fails!

I ran across that website yesterday! I found it on VFRworld.com, which I registered on, also. Those guys sure know there stuff on these V4's!

  7. I put in a new battery today, started it on starting fluid a couple more times trying to get fuel to flow. Verified fuel pump operation, then figured out the vaccuum line that connected to the petcock. Now it had fuel running out of several places on the carbs (where it obviously shouldn't have been!) They had been apart from each other and not put back together properly. They're now sitting on the bench, one is completely disassembled.

I ordered an o-ring kit for them, and will disassemble the rest of them, and go through them, and clean everything tomorrow, the reassemble them Thursday when I get the o-ring kit.

I just wish I had more time to work on them, or that the kit would be in tomorrow! I ordered them from the local Honda dealer. I found them cheaper online, but shipping came close to making up for the difference, not to mention that it would be a couple weeks before they would ship!

I need to pull a plug tomorrow and see how they look, and replace them if needed while I'm in there. So far, things are looking good!

  8. Since you will be coming right past here, I wish I didn't have this thing called a job! I'd be ready to go, otherwise! (That's a lie, right now I'd be working on the VF500F in any time I have off.)

Looks much better going into Martinsburg instead of Mt. Vernon. I have a smaller loop plotted out to take sometime that starts here (just outside of Johnstown, pretty much where the mapping programs put you when you enter Johnstown!) but doesn't go over I-70.

  9. Depends. Most of the time, just close as possible spot. I try to park out toward the end of the spot, so that cages can see the bike and not pull in on top of it. Seeing that Ohio has such a large number of bikes (I heard that we're #2 per capita on number of registered bikes) shouldn't more places have bike parking spots?

  10. I'll bet this guy rides more miles than most of us on this forum.

And has at LEAST as much fun with it!

    Sounds like a cool group!

Maybe I could find some other Interceptors / Honda V4's to get a group together? We could get together to maintain and repair our bikes, ride together and with others.... Just thinking aloud....

  11. hey have fun with it!!

    oh and KAWI FTW!!!!@!

Yeah, I agree, Kawi FTW, bt I have jumped ship for a bike that I've always liked. Beside, I can ride the Kawi any time she's not on it!

Just don't take the fact that the new bike is a Honda as some sort of indicator that I'm a Honda boy. I say there's a distinct difference with their cars and their bikes!

  12. I got a No-Insurance ticket in the UK many years ago, and the officer who pulled me over told me that I didn't get pulled over for doing something wrong - it was just the look on my face as we saw each other. Guilty conscience = Look-like-you-just-saw-a-ghost when the officer drives past.

I got a driving under suspension, and no insurance tickets from this very thing. I asked him why he pulled me over, he said "Cause you looked like a scared deer when you looked over at me." That was 12 or so years ago, and I STILL try to avoid eye contact with LEO's, even when I have nothing to worry about which ismost of the time, these days, other than occasionally speeding. He said that he ran my plates after seeing me, came up suspended license (had work priveledges, but was going the wrong way to get there) so he stopped me, and went through hell for a long time getting rides to work, etc...

  13. now i know who to tell my wife to direct her anger toward instead of me

Go for it! I can take it!

Now the Ninja's pissed about me getting a new bike, it wouldn't start this morning. Sounded like something MAJOR breaking apart. I went home at lunch and messed with it a little bit, got it to start and has been fine ever since. I think something was just a little off in the starter clutch. Can't imagine it being anything too major, the bike has less than 5000 miles on it. Ya never know though!

  14. so your the one ! I was going down to lancaster today to look at that but he called last night and said he sold it , i saw it on cl but was going to the races so couldnt get there till today was gonna pick it up for the wife she wants a bike to start riding

Yeah, I'm the one! I was ready to go Saturday, but he said that he had someone coming to look at it yesterday in the AM. It's definitely a project, but I think I can have it up and running soon.
